Fabulous fast capture.
I'm presuming you use flash to capture this high speed H2O shot.
Fantastic Sharpness.
Looks like molten glass falling onto a river of Mercury.

thanks bro! It was pretty difficult to get the waterdrops sharp and stuff.. Also because of the fact that they tend to fall down very fast And i didnt had the advantage of a tripod..
hmm i have a very old one now, one that isnt steady!

Well I bought a decent tripod (nothing fancy, standard Hama thingy) for just 17 euro's at the "Media markt". So if somebody still is looking for a birthday present for you...

17 euros?
that sounds like a pretty good deal to me! What sort of tripod is it, i mean the height and stuff.

I don't know exactly (I'm at the university right now so I can't measure it up right now) but I guess it to be around 1.5m high. The height can be adusted by adjusting the lengths of the legs (3-part telescopic system) and the euh thing in the middle . The camera can be tilted horizontally and vertically. It's lightweight (al) and pretty small. The only thing it lacks is a "waterpas".

I'll take a pic of it when I got home tonight

I checked out the mediamarkt on the internet, but i cannot find it there..
Maybe i'll just go to utrecht today and check it out!

let me know when you have that picture!

This is well taken, although i think the angle of shot could have been higher to capture more of the water, and maybe to capture more of the effect of the water ripples. but the colour and the clarity is first rate. Excellent

I really like this sort of high-detail photo and I especially like the way that a reflection can be seen in the drop which is repeated in the smaller ones.

i did a shot like this once, [link] , but i really like yours much better...

it is so clear and vibrant! what kind of a flash did you use? it looks like there are two flashes in the little water drops?

thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

setdown In reply to killersnowman [2005-02-14 10:08:50 +0000 UTC]

heey thanks!
i'm not too sure wheter i used 1 or 2 flashes. I tried that both.
But i suspect this picture is taken with one remote flash. It turned out better than the build-in flash, because i could position the flash from a different point.
But thanks for your comment

Wow, netjes gedaan man, vraga me af hoe je dat gedaan hebt, of in ieder geval, hoe je de timing deed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

setdown In reply to DaShAg [2005-02-13 10:25:58 +0000 UTC]

my god... not familiar my ass! thats absolutely amazing... you are way too naturally talented...

agreed with brutinni... getting even with the water level is great. i like how i can see that the water is uneven by looking through the water... i don't know how to put this into words correctly, but its very very cool.

i also like the multiple water drops and that it is off-center. you see this kind of picture but its always the same dark water with a perfect little drop right in the middle... they are so boring and cliched. you on the other hand, have taken the concept and done something more original with it.

the monochromatic color scheme is great.. i think it shows more detail and i love all the various shades in the water.

i also LOVE the reflections in the water drops... especially the biggest drop... there's so much detail! its fascinating to look at... whoa i just noticed the depth of field going on here... rockin'!

yea, its amazing and i have no critiques... impressive, very impressive

& katelyn
