I tried to wait longer before I posted this but today seemed to be a good day to do it.
Lots of different media used here: acrylics, collage, pastels, graphite pencil on illustration board.

What do you use for the texture in the backgrounds?

On this piece the background is a few layers of loosely applied acrylic paint (colors underneath a layer of titanium white) with thin glazes of color brushed on and loosely blended.

I love your green coated Santa! I love seeing drawings of him in cloaks other than the traditional red (I'm partial to blue coated Santas). This one is so cheerful yet befitting the Christmas season. He has a cardinal-my favorite bird!
