An exquisite design with a very dream-like feel and atmosphere to it. It carries a very surreal feeling to it that gives you the impression that you are floating through the clouds with the Dragonfly as it makes its way toward an unknown destination. Beautifully done.

Such an adventure! I like everything about this, the color, the bold mountains marching, clouds and breezes blowing. LOVE the drips on the lower left - I can tell you painted wet, tipped it, turned it back over.......

It IS HUGE. I always find it so much more liberating though, working on a large surface. Do you ever have to use projectors, as in make a clean draft in a more manageable size to project off of for painting?

I only used a projector once for a comic book hero reproduction (many many moons ago).
"The Journey: Green Dragonfly" piece was just painted from my head. The only thing I was sure about the piece was I knew there would be mountains so I started painting them and the rest came out. I have pics somewhere of the beginning of the painting and I'll post them if I find them (I know I posted WIP pics on FB).

That is a great question. I have imagined in each painting the progress of the balloon is from left to right of the painting.

Brilliant! More depth than other pieces I've seen by you (but I loved the others too, you have a way of making simple works explode with intrique), and very very nice. I love the different elements in the piece. It brings to mind so many things, but not one thing in particular. That is the hallmark of brilliant art for me. Very very nice work!

I like hot it seems as though the large dragonfly is kind of guiding the tiny airship somewhere. I also enjoy the mellow colors on this.

So marvelous! There are so many interesting parts that you just wanna keep looking at this image forever. But in looking at the detail shots they could even stand alone!

The clouds are brilliant, you really captured the way they look. I love the swirly clouds as well, they have a wonderful Chinese feel about them.

I love clouds and misty, foggy things. I've been working on perfecting how I want them to look when I paint them. I want the realism of them but with a bit of the human touch on them, hence the asian styling.
