I can't measure or give you the exact volume of how much you have to learn.
Because I'm learning every day gradually.
I can only tell you several things that most important :
- Never rely on the renderer engine only
- Dig your photoshop skill for heavy postworking, there are plenty of good tutorial on Youtube (Phlearn on youtube is one of the example)
- Your SSS skin shader setting and standard 3 point lighting setup will makes the image looks alive. Experiment with the number, don't be afraid to trial and error with the render.
- Don't use built in lighting system, use more advance lighting product like "Advance Daz Studio Lighting" if you are using DAZ Studio.
- Balance of light and shadow
- Google is your best friend, type anything on Google search, you will be surprise how easy to found your answer.
- Postworking will be easier if you want to invest on software like "Nik Color Efex Pro"
