Description Even after all these months, Calypso thought, shaking her head. She was still finding the occasional boo that was obviously lost, abandoned, or the offspring of a lost or abandoned boo (possibly crossed with a wild one). The events of Warptide had disturbed Wynsiph, leaving ripples that spread far. There was a feral coatala population too that she was trying to get a handle on.

She knew another one was hanging around, because of the general disturbance around the trash bin. Calypso prepared a bowl of the mush that she made for sick boos or runebabes who weren't thriving, and left the tempting offering as bait (few boo can resist the strong fruity odor it gave off). Settling herself behind a nearby bush, she took deep breaths to keep herself still and quiet and prepared for a long wait.

She needn't have worried. In a bare fifteen minutes, she heard a rustling. A tiny yellow nose poked itself out, sniffling. Well, would you look at that! A boo that was clearly strongly from domestic lines, with those ears and that tail! Calypso considered him with the practiced eye of a seasoned fancier. Neither common nor rare, hm, yes, not really a pattern that her usual clients tended to favor, and not one of the most popular color sets, but not at all an unattractive little one. Excellent. She would probably be able to find it a home, particularly if it was friendly after a little TLC to remind it that it wasn't a wild creature and nobody was going to hurt it.

The runeboo sidled up to the bowl, eyes darting. He seemed very furtive. He must have been living rough since the incident, or very soon after, to be that shy and that scrawny. Every night she failed to catch him was another night closer to starvation. Calypso was determined. She readied herself.

The boo drooled a little, his shining eyes taking in the contents of the delicious smelling bowl. He dipped a paw in and licked it. Trilling with delight, the little boo stuffed his nose in the mess and began to feed, coming up for air only long enough to lick at his sticky face.

Now. He was intent on what must have been the best feed he'd had in some time and his guard was down. Calypso crept as close as she dared. Darting out her paw in one smooth, practiced snatch, she gripped the startled boo behind his shell close to the back of his neck. He squeaked and wailed piteously, likely as much from the startle of it and getting interrupted from that food as from any terror of her, as she deftly turned him to check for rattle mites or wounds. He seemed all right so she gave him a quick once over with a warm damp cloth in lieu of a real bath, lest he escape, and then put him in a crate with a warm blanket and the rest of the mash. He made short work of it so she handed him a slice of ripe fruit to apologize for the indignities of his capture. All was forgiven. His belly full at last, the boo burrowed and kicked himself into the blanket until only his nose showed, and fell into a deep sleep.

Oh ho ho, am I plotting things? I am! Here's the backstory on who is going to become Eudora's boo. The trade isn't even fully finalized yet (bad Bard!) but I couldn't wait to post it. XD It's four am because I make bad life choices so I'm going to not bother counting wyns or doing any of that and I'm going to go pass out like I ought to have three hours ago woops. XD

Okay so five boos and one bust of Calypso makes
