Thanks.
Yours are extremely well done as well. Your skills definitely heightened over the years, especially in layout and action.

Viper gloats 'A snake is most dangerous when cornered,' then points out 'I have you surrounded.'
Doesn't seem that bright, does she?

She's cornered in that they've destroyed her other bases and chased her into her last hiding place. Now they've done that, she's got them surrounded (and is, therefore, pretty dangerous!) That might not have been clear if you didn't follow BC's previous Viper story (it's worth a look!)

Another brilliant page... but Oh God I really hate the way Viper's voice is written! I know BC does this too, so I can see why you did it... but it really annoys me! We don't do it for any other character, so why for Viper? Ugh. Can we stick to the scripted version and not give her the 'borderline-insulting-comedy-stereotype-Irish-voice' from now on? Rant over!
Art is brilliant though - as usual! Love the framing of the second panel! Can't wait for the next page

LOL! Point taken.
Though, I'm sure that BC's just going for authenticity if anything else. If she's a native Irish chick speakin' English, it's only natural for her to speak with an Irish accent.
Thanks for all the kind words, though.

My point is that we don't do this for characters with English or American accents, so why just for this one character? To me, it's an unnecessary device that distracts from the plot and the character. It takes me out of the story and makes me think 'What a clumsy stereotype' rather than 'what a scary villain' every time I read a Viper story. They don't tend to do it like this in comics. If you take Rogue from the X-Men, they don't spell every word she says phonetically - just the odd key word (Y'all!) enough to remind you but not to overdo it. For Viper, every line is spelled phonetically and I think it's overdoing it personally. BC likes it and she's his character so I guess we go with it, but I'd be happier if it were... restrained a little.

Yeah, but how do you feel when you see a character with a German accent written like that? Do you like it? And I think Kira's different, because in his case, it's the order of the words or the words themselves that are different - not the pronunciation of the words.

Well, I admit, sometimes I don't like it. But there are some things about us Germans, that are simply true.
I don't feel offended or anything. As long as Germans are not portrayed as Nazis, I'm cool.
Maybe you indeed have the ability to get in touch with a comic and its characters easily and thus don't need such distractions.
But not everybody has that and for some, if not most people, it helps seeing the differences between the characters.

It all depends on perception - clever literary device or stereotype! Since it's just the tow of us talking about it I guess nobody else cares one way or the other, lol!

She's your character - so if you choose to write her that way in your stories, you go with it. I think the reason it's annoying me this time is that it's my words that are being altered. If this were entirely my script I would have chosen not to use that method. I don't think that finding a real Irish person to help you is the answer - because this isn't about accuracy - I'm sure what you've done sounds very like someone with a heavy Irish accent. But to me, the way we have her speaking here - re-spelling the words - does seem very stereotypical and it's a device that I think is unnecessary. But I get that you like it, so I won't complain about it from now on.

LOL! I did not know that until you told me just now.
Thanks, though. I'm glad that you like her as well as the rest of the page.
