Up until now, all of the plush sewing patterns I had available for free (sewdesune.deviantart.com/galle… ) and for sale (www.etsy.com/shop/CholyKnight?… ) assumed you have basic sewing knowledge. But I get so many beginning sewers trying out my patterns it only seems fair to create more tutorials on sewing basics -- particularly for plushies. So that's what this is I hope to keep making more and incorporate them into my patterns from now on so they'll be even more beginner-friendly.

I'm often asked whether it's possible to sew one of my patterns without a machine -- and the answer is a definite yes! For every machine stitch there's usually one or more hand-sewn equivalents. This infographic goes over all of the main ones as well as a few tips on getting started with hand sewing.

You definitely can A machine would be stronger, but you can always stitch over the same area multiple times for extra strength.
This tutorial covers the process a little better:Β thehappyhousewife.com/home-man…

I actually needed this since I'm auditioning to be a costume maker for my school's play, and it saves me the time of watching YouTube tutorials.

Thank you for this! Every plush I make I sew by hand (sewing machines freak me out XD), and the applique techniques are very helpful! Good to have a refresher.

It is something to remember. Especially if you don't have space but have patience.
