yes, I think that technique is starting to become an eloquent cop-out for me finding nice fonts and obtuse messages to put in their place.

i dunno, i think the crossed out text is a good device to portray non-communication or bad communication. me i always use black word balloons.

There actually isn't anything under the cross outs.. its part of a series of posters for a band that I was working for, where the theme is (like my featured comic strip) 'what dare be said aloud'.
