CHAPTER 1:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The room was full of chatter as Lillian wandered into the ballroom. Soft, soothing music whirled over the white enclosed room, filling the atmosphere with an enchanting spell luring Lillian further into the crowd of creatures. The voice singing this incantation seemed to be speaking through her body as if to grab her waist and entice her attention into the scene before her.
This divine scene was painted with people in elegant jewelry and clothes, their faces hidden behind masks of gems, feathers and glitter that glistened lushly under the golden lighting of the room. This exquisite scene sent shivers through Lillian's body. Never before had she been in such a divine room full of such nobly angelic creatures. This was new to her yet it felt as though she had been here before, as if it were the haze of a distant dream. A haze that felt as though it were fading more and more away till it scratched the last of her grip and clung to the darkness before it. Maybe this was so, or maybe this was a dream from a fandom crave off of one of the movies she deeply cherished.
Had I been here before? Why was I even here? These questions sent a shrill of fear yet earnest through her body, her eyes drifting over the elegant movement the people played among the dance floor. After a moment of contemplating the questions yanking at the sole of her mind, her feet pushed her forward as she started wandering aimlessly through the crowd as if she were trying to find a hint or a clue as to the reason she was there.
She gently pushed through the dancers, meeting eye to eye to some of the mysterious masked faces as she searched her eyes through the crowd. Once she had managed to get into the heart of the crowd, her vision caught sight of a man looking back her way far off in the distance. He wore a rather peculiar set of attire that defined him as unworldly and yet it defined him in such a mysterious way that it sent shrills up Lillian's spine in a pleasurable manner. This distantly outlandish yet amiable wardrobe consisted of leather pants and heeled, black leather boots that rose to the bottom of his knees. Over a silken white, ruffled shirt, he wore a dark tailcoat with a hint of glitter around the shoulder blades.
One of his features that struck her the most in a strange blurred fashion was the teased, layered mess of his hair that fell just above his chest. The other was the particular enticing features of his face when he began to lower his mask to establish his seldom gaze into her innocent, pure face as she stared back into his mismatched eyes. He had a particular strong bone structure that made his check firm and slender along with a narrow alluring nose. His lips were slim yet defined with a hint of gloss and his eyes, a mismatched shade of blue and green had a particular marking above them that slanted upwards into his brow. His dark full eyebrows seemed to do the same, arching up into his hairline. How curious she thought why would I be dreaming of a prince and a ball? This is getting rather strange...
Trapped under a spell, she continued to stare into his mismatched eyes with the look of innocence, her mouth parted slightly and her eyes full of wonder and fascination. After a moment had past, a dancing couple spun into and out of their view leaving an empty space upon which he were standing. Baffled upon where he had disappeared to and how, she found herself grazing her vision back over the crowd and her feet moving from underneath her as she traveled through the crowd in search of this mysterious, yet somehow familiar face. Who is this man, and why is he bestowing such fascination over me as if I'm bewitched? This scene is getting way too familiar...almost like De Je Vu.
As Lillian continued on her perplexed binge through the crowd, Jareth watched in an amused manor, dancing in the distance with one of the maidens that covered the dance floor. He couldn't help but keep hidden amongst the crowd to feel the need and yearn she seeped into the atmosphere upon the desire to finally find him. Even though she was a mere human among these god like creatures called the Fae, she somehow had put a spell over his stern features, pushing him to watch in desire as she sought for him among the crowd. Amused, he danced out of the scene with his partner leaving her to continue to wander.
Couple after couple she pushed through in search of this haunting figure, wandering where he had gone. Through her search among the crowd, she found that the people hidden underneath their ornate marks, started to gawk at her in amusement, talking amongst themselves and mocking her as she continued her absurd meanderings. As much as the mockery from the people started to make her feel out of place and a bit awkward, she continued her search passing by a couple hidden behind an elegant feather filled fan, wandering her eyes over the crowd ahead of her and continuing her binge pushing through the next crowd of people.
Once Lillian had stepped away from the couple, the elegant, feather filled fan lowered down revealing a women laying her head upon Jareth's chest. He watched in pleasure as Lillian pushed through the next crowd of taunting Fae. Grinning in amusement he set the Fae women aside and walked along her path, slowly and deviously, talking to the Fae along his path. As he kept his gaze upon her in the distance, he reached a dangling chandelier among the center of the crowd stopping in his tracks to watched in contempt as more Fae started to swirl around Lillian and torment her, splashing annoyance and discontent upon her face as she pushed away from them, wandering further into the ballroom.
Lillian started to get frustrated and distraught as she pushed through the laughing and dancing crowd of people not knowing where to go or what to do. She started to give up hope that she was ever going to find this daunting figure of royalty. Slowing her movements through the people, she suddenly stopped in front of another couple hidden behind an elegant, feather filled fan as she turned around and searched through the crowd one last time. Once she glided her vision over the crowd and back in front of her, her heart suddenly skipped a beat as she stared into the mismatched eyed of ocean and earth of the man she had sought for. Beside him on either side were two masked women, one with curly, lush chocolate hair and the other with carrot red hair that was held up with different shades of jewels and gems. She stood there breathlessly, not able to speak a word, as she continued to stare innocently into his eyes full of wonder, her mouth parted ever so slightly.
Jareth watched Lillian in wonder, his face stern yet his eyes filled with desire as he, too, continued to stare into the crystal blue eyes of Lillian. Her hair, short and colored like a pearl was decorated with jewels and metallic leaves matching the earrings that hung from her plump round ears and the necklace that charmingly laid upon her chest. Upon her lean, curvy body, attired a white lace, ball dress embroidered with jewels and metallic leaves. The bodice was sleeveless clinging to her cleavage and leaving her porcelain shoulders bare. Upon her arms she wore white lace gloves that stretched below her elbow. She was a lovely sight of pure angelic beauty that pulled him further into desire. Before the staring got to awkwardly long, he moved from the Fae women beside him slowly walking up to Lillian and placing a hand around her waist and the other in his own gliding her into the group of dancing Fae, not breaking the craved filled stare he held upon her own filled with wonder.
Before Lillian could utter a word, she found herself dancing with this mysterious man among the others within the dance floor unable to break her locked vision she held upon his mismatched eyes. She felt as though she were dancing on air the way he glided her over the floor. She even started to forget the music that was playing throughout the air, when it suddenly started to grow louder. The man in front of her had started singing the rest of the song as if singing for her. "I'll be there for you oo oo...as the world falls down...falling...falling in love" Lillian looked at him in curiosity as he sang those words to her spinning her through the dance floor. Waiiit...I've heard this song before. I feel like I'm in a movie scene...but why? She wandered her vision from him to the crowd around them when she suddenly started to hear her name being yelled throughout the room. "LILLIAN!" someone cooed. "LILLIAN!!" bellowed another. "LILLIAN WAKE UP!!" before she knew it the scene around her started to shatter as the man in front of her smirked deviously and faded out of her vision.
"LILLIAN!! HELLO??!!" Lillian felt someone shake her shoulders as she slowly opened her eyes to find herself resting her head on a desk in her classroom. Damn it...she thought as she yawned and sat up in her chair. I fell asleep in class again...
