Description The crossfox is an endangered vulpine and also one of my favorite animals. I drew the image of individual strokes, for which I have used hours after hours. The background should work loose. In contrast, I wanted to portray the fur of the fox as realistic as possible.

I am very happy with the result.

Actually, the Cross Fox is a naturally occuring color mutation of the Red Fox (Vulpes Vulpes). The color phase isn't as common as the red phase but it's hardly endangered.

I thought that there would come something like that.
I know these already since years... dunno why I was that dumb back then to write something like that...

erm... I found this on Wikipedia:
The cross fox is a partially melanistic colour variant of the red fox (Vulpes vulpes) which has a long dark stripe running down its back, intersecting another stripe to form a cross over the shoulders. It tends to be more abundant in northern regions, and is rarer than the common red form, but is more common than the even darker silver fox.

Cross foxes are relatively common in the northern areas of North America, and comprise up to 30% of Canada's red fox population. < There they live. ^^
