Finally I completed this picture! XDI drew the lineart for this piece in october 2005, which is almost one year ago now. I did not have the power or felt like doing the coloration. But now, as I have to do a map for applying at art college, I wanted to finish it.
I know that there arte several drawing mistakes (don't look at the very upper left, DON'T look I said!!), but I can't change that. Things like this happen to every picture, especially if there is no "undo" button because it is a traditional drawing.
Some of the details might not match with Paul Kidby's official Discworld artworks, but that may be considered as "artistic license". (Just look at the university building, it is completely different to his ideas!)
All the characters on this piece of fanart are taken from Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" novels, they belong to him and not to me.
You may discover these characters: Rincewind the wizzard, Death, Nanny Ogg, Granny Weatherwax, the Luggage, the Librarian, the Death of Rats as well as something from the Dungeon Dimensions.

Well, as I do own two Discworld artbooks (and the books, of course), I had no problems finding references for the people. That's why they look similar to Kidby's character designs.

You know, it's a misconception that things have to match with Paul Kidby's art. Yes, the man's a genius and usually gets things right, but I find it more interesting to see what other people make of things, as well.

Even if you have many colors available, mixing the right skin color is difficult. either it tends to bee to light or too dark... oO;

I know what you mean, I hardly ever bother to draw the witches, as he's captured them so well.
Eep. That's why I like watercolours so much; you can simply mess around with them and mix them until you're entirely happy with them.

There really are many colors in the picture... But it had to be somehow.
The only thing I'm not so happy about is the skin colors, they look a bit too bright. *sighs*
