I just try to focus on the lines of light and shadow, not the shapes of face... I wouldn't be able to draw and expression without a picture to draw from

art is an odd thing
what really counts is the impression on the viewer

not the straight lines, not the solid coloring in between the lines
not the usage of the exact same colors from the reference

it can literally be paint splattered on a canvas randomly
but if it moves the viewer, sends him a message
or creates or taps into emotion of the viewer
it is great art

i've read many artists suggest to their viewers to zoom in on the screen
then back away from the screen
to see something or see it better

it's all about perception
which is different for us all
not only that, but i just looked at a picture of a friend's
that i also looked at last night
and received an entirely different perception of it
and probably would tomorrow night, as well!!!
when i viewed Bespin Han, it stirred within me.
