Its not a bad machine.
NVIDIA 8700 GT with 512 ram, DUO core T5550 1.85 GHrz. It does very well with terragen, incendia, auto desk.
But, well thats about the best I could offer him.
I know he is in need of cash.

Oddly it started out as a cover image as a ruse for some downloads.
The cover image I thought was so bad no one would give it 2 flips of a pancake.
I guess I was wrong.

The terrain and surface map are perfect, do not change anything at all - ever.
The atmosphere, while one of my favorites, just doesn't fit here. Honestly I would love to see a stock photo of a sky thrown in there, because I don't think any terragen 0.9 atmosphere could do justice to that very realistic terrain.

Yeah, the atmos is weak. I did that because it suppose to be my part of a colab.
Since my atmos always get destroyed in these things I just work on surf mapping and correct lighting.
I guess I did it right this time. Seems alot are saying what you are.
If you wish to have a go with your idea go ahead. If you do we could call it a colab.

It is a bit hard to throw in a photo when the scene is built around shadows, etc. The best way to do it is to just use a blue sky and then add in the clouds later. There are ways of doing a nicer atmosphere, but that is just the easiest way I know of.
I think you did the right thing for the collab though, hopefully the postwork colors match the current atmosphere.

There might be a tutorial about it somewhere, but that's how I figured it out. Granted, I haven't done a great job with it, but it works in most cases.

There is but I forgot who has it. Probably in my favs some were.
Something about rendering in blue, then with no sky and then adding layers and blending all.
Its the blending thing I always screw up.

I'm terrible with blending as well, especially for terraspace images (which I totally don't understand how to do properly).

He is going to do some post work so I made the atmos dull to allow for editing.
Most likely the atmos will be removed in part at least. I just concentrated on the surface lighting.
