Description oooo, a spooky pair! The Kelpie is a mostly scottish water faerie, who takes the form of (as a female) a beautiful young maid and of (as a male) a majestic white horse, both appearing at the shores of lakes, the banks of rivers, and generally any inland body of water.
The lady of the species lures lusty and unfaithful men to a watery grave with her charm and looks then drowning them! The male does this in the same way, luring travelers and children to itself and urging them to stroke it or mount it. But, once human skin touches the skin of a kelpie, it sticks! And such cannot come unstuck. The male kelpie will then drag whatever poor sod is stuck to it into the body of water it guards and drown them, then eat them!

Both the male and female do this, shedding their beauty once their prey is secured, revealing their slimy, fishy, scaley, toothy, and generally just beastly and unpleasant true form only once it's too late to escape.
