"Hey" one of the Zenith Horizon mercenaries said to the other. "Did you hear the last news?"

"Which one?

"Daisy, of the C company, told me that the other time when they where returning from a punitive patrol against civilians, in the way back they fired arrows at them! Arrows!!"

"Arrows? Really?"

"Really!"

"Why the hell would they use arrows?"

"Well, I guess they don't have any gun? I mean, before our bosses bought the rights to these lands, the colonists were actually a bunch of religious, pacifist people that renounced using weapons: that's why it was so easy to take over the place!"

"If they rejected violence, why would they use bows and arrows now?"

the other mercenary moved her shoulders. "Don't know, don't care. Maybe we killed one elder too much, kidnapped a child too many or something stupid like that"

"... this will be really the easiest aggressive take-down of an unregistered colony in the history of the Nebulosa.
I mean: arrows? They could very well just throw stones at us!

So, are all the colonists doing this, or it's a crazy lone archer?"

"For the rumours, Would say, crazy loner archer"

the two mercenaries doing the perimeter check walked a bit longer of their round in silence.

"You can get killed by an arrow?"

"What? No way. I mean: sure! But it would be really lame, and really humiliating to be be killed by something so ridiculous!!"

"Yeah. I would die of embarrassment, dying in such a ridiculous way!!"

Her comrade was to answer, when she thought she saw something moving in the bushes. She tried to lock with the thermal visor integrated in her assault rifle, but she didn't saw anything -but heard some object quickly cutting the air by her.

She lowered the rifle to look around what that could be... and saw her comrade still standing, with an arrow in her neck.
