At evening, as the sun wasn't so strong that they couln't see, the dark elven woman leaved the cover providen by the shadows of the house, going to bath in the river, or lay under the sun, now that it wasn't burning their skin...

"boooooring" said Milvais.

the days and nights in the swamp where long; very long... specially the sunny days, that forced them to stay indoors, because all the light make them feel sick, so as soon as they could they leaved the confined house, to move across the small island in the swamp where the White Hermit lived.

"How long we will be just laying around" she added then...

the three drows were lying under the sun on a piece of the beach which they have called “the nude beach”: meanwhile Ivoÿn with her bad leg only coud read some books of the old hermit and bath under the sun, Quilintha and Milvais worked out, drilled, swimmed, sunbathed and sometimes bathed in the mud, training as well their combat habilities.

"I got used to the sun, and I like it," replied Quilintha. – And we are still learning here."

The old High elf, the white hermit had promised to help them to get back to Negeémiliel... but the time pass and pass, and they were still in the island in the middle of the swamp: the white Hermit, Belád, said he was expecting both somebody, as well the caravan time, before returning to the north...

At first, Quilintha suspected this was just an excuse to keep around three slaves, but he didn't make them work for him. She supposed then he may be a perverted: but despise some obvious signs he did indeed was affected by them, he seemed to have some internal struggle, and he seemed to actively force himself to reject the advances of Milvais over him, and he forced himself to try to not look at them nude -or at least not be found doing so!-

She thought it was just a sun-elf being prude, bound as the surface dwelling to their prudish cultures... but maybe was something else...

but long days of doing nothing was boring.... so boring!
So, despise the reluctance, and how the white hermit was somewhat reluctant when treating with them, they asked him if they could help him... -to do something!-

Now, they where learning some surface languages, how to live and survive up there, as well many other interesting things, as the meditation and martial art ways of the old elf...

they were learning new things, but not much about their host...

"I'm happy to learn new things, " Milvais said, "and tanning in the nude under the sun is a funny thing, too, but I miss the Underworld. I want to return there."

"We all belong the Underworld. But it's so small! I want to see more of the world!" said Ivoÿn, closing the book she was reading. "The Underworld is safe and comfortable place, I agree, and I also want to go there, to see the relatives, and such. But I'd like to travel before that. Haven't you read the books in this house? Don't you want to climb the highest mountain? Or to cross the ocean on a ship? To find new countries, new worlds?"

"Bah. Books" answered Milvais. "these are novels... And as long I know, so far for me the overworld is just this island, in a swamp... A river, and a long steppe and deserts of dust, sun and dirt: is as well rag tagged outposts, Arenas of blood and pain. That's the overworld. I want to go home"

"Home, friends, family and business... I wonder how are doing my mom and my brother... the guy know how to end in problems" said Ivoÿn, looking to the strange shapes of the swamp trees.

"My sexy-male-Ivoÿn?" said Milvais "It would be nice to see him... but I'm worried of my Talice"

"You slave girl?"

"She is only technically my slave... I really hope she is well: the last time I was with her, we were planning that she could get a male, so we can have a daughter -or a little cute boy!- to raise together."

"What? you want a family now?"

"I want to be mother, but you know we can't have a family as active acolytes of Negeé..."

"Unless you have political assests to defy these laws" said Ivoÿn, remembering their 'older sister', Captain Lo'Kee...

"Anyway. I really hope now she didn't get pregnant now" said Milvais. "My family never liked her, and threated her like a true slave... I hope they didn't sold her while we dissapeared"

"I wonder what we will be once we return to Negeémiliel... desertors?"

"I don't want to worry for that" said Quilintha... this wasn't a nice theme to speak, in a boring sunny day... she was worried of her mate... when was the last time she saw him? The last thing they do together was to fight. If they ever return back to Negeémiliel, she will need to solve that.

"What will be doing or comrades now?"

"Surely, they are fighting some forgotten war against some forgotten barbarians. We should be with them, or they will hurt themselves."

"...specially Achie" said Ivoÿn smirking.

"...specially Achie." added Milvais, smiling. "surely she will have liked this kind of aventure. She allways was telling everybody about her time as prisioner... wich was nothing near what we lived."

she rolled on the small dock of the island of the hermit, looking to the clouds... soon, the night will fall.

"Other who surely get into problems while we are there, was that priestess" that phrase of Quilintha wasn't casual...

"Laeh'le? Oh, surely she had less problems, without us mocking her!" said Milvais... but really, the fact that this elf in the middle of a swamp lost in nowhere, showed so much interest in the clumsy priestess of their company, knowing her name and lastname, asking for her -and later denying it all- was something that made not only Quilintha, but the three drows a bit worried...

why Belád Bonceudil, the white hermit, know her? And why, after all he told them he lived in Kazrrad, he wanted to help them?

They didn't wanted to talk much about this... not now, at least.

Quilintha looked the last reflections of the sun on the water, as well as the birds go back to their nests...

"What about to remain free like the wind? Like the birds?"

no more slavery, but neither, not a live in Negeémiliel... with duties, social possition, and all...

" Oh, Quilintha! Freedom is a myth. The birds become prey sometimes!" said Ivoÿn.

" And the queens also become prey sometimes…"

The night is falling down... and now, in the comfortable darkness that come, where it was easier to see the landscape to the drows, they see something in the water.
