Description

"The university it's only for women?" ask Quiebrahuesos, looking around at the classroom.

Her mother-in-law, Gawiel, looked at her confused. "Why you ask? D'uh. Just look around and find the evident answer!"

Quiebrahuesos looked around. As far she could tell, there where only pointy-ears women.

"Yes?" she ventured as an answer to her own question.

"D'uh! Obviously not! More than half the students are male!" said Gawiel, as she rolled her eyes, making her classmates laugh at Quiebrahuesos, who moved uncomfortable in the bench, too small for her.

Gawiel picked that place with a purpose, to make specially visible the new wife of her son Manwë, the Dryad of the House of the Manwë. Well, at least, what all the elves of Vanilion thought it was a dryad, thought to herself Quiebrahuesos Wargh, trying to make herself feel better. Despise they attitude, looks and laughs, they didn't seemed to suspect she was really an orc of the plains!

But that really didn't make her feel much better, as everybody in the classroom looked at her, the last novelty in the bored high elven society of Vanilion.

Meanwhile her daughter-in-law, Quirwen Wallae, the dryad, feel uncomfortable and out of place -surely she needed some trees to hug or something, she thought-, Gawiel Manwë smiled, as her idea to be mor popular in the University where working!

With all her classmates looking at the Leaf Elf, she was as well the center of attention, for well: bringing her! And she was in her house and married to her son. Surely it was embarassing to have a barbarian dryad as daughter-on-law, but everything was nice!

"Psst!" said one of her friends.

"What?" asked Gawiel

"Are you sure it was a goof idea to bring the dryad?" she said.

"Why not?" said Gawiel, bothered. She didn't liked when people didn't give her attention. Or didn't do what she wanted. Or they contrary in any way, even in a small one, to anything she wanted, decided or desired.

"Well, surely you know, surerly the Dryad grab attention..."

"But what?!" she said, annoyed as her friend keep taking time in saying what she thought.

"I don't think it's the right attention... I mean, you are using her as a jester. Surely she it's fun, and lovely for a uncultered savage leaf elf barbarian, which foolishness is more expected and forgiveable!
...But it sort make everybody remember you son, as she it's his wife... So it's making all of you look more and more of some weirdos"

"Shut up" Gawile whispered to her friend, furiously biting the writing feather. She hadn't thought of that. She never thought of that. She never think in that sort of things, and later mom allways it's nagging.

Why everybody it's so silent now?

The Professor who was giving the class was looking at her. Crap. Did he asked something? She didn't heared. She knew that professor, he will love to humilliate her.

But then, the eyes of the professor, in front of the classroom, moved to the dryad...

Half orc At the university, technically, but: Shhh!, don't tell Quiebrahuesos that!!

Let's play along with Quiebrahuesos!
From the 10 elves in this pic, point out their genders!
tip: there are more male pointy-earz than female ones!

So top-left to right:

Male female female male female

second row, left to right:

Half Elf/ORc female, female female male

Bottom, left to right:

male and unknown, likely female.

So 4 men and 6 women, 7 women with the Half-breed.

That's only the ones in the picture though, but tihs would be my guess

a Half-Orc (and half elf), possing as other kind of elf (as part of a falling apart bad plan to make some other half elf inherit from his family), living among a bunch of elves!

That one is tough!

Ill guess the top one with freckles is female, and the one in the middle is male (since he seems to take some sort of interest in her )
The one at the bottom end is definitely male.
the one next to Gawiel is female, she looks like it and the story says so too.
the far left one should be male too. The dark-haired next to him doesnt seem to have breasts, but an V shaped top, so i guess female too.
The left one of the two in the top right corner looks male too.
The left one is the one with glasses, since you said there are more males than females and quie and gawiel count in too, he has to be male.

eagerly awaiting the conclusion to the mystery of elfish genders!

Shabazik In reply to MorgothMelkor [2013-02-22 21:30:34 +0000 UTC]

Interesting!
you where close, but the dark haired elf with the V shaped top it's male! And the one with glasses, female. :3

The conclusion would be:
Annoyed elf who can't see through Qui's head -- Male.
Dark haired, styled hair elf yawning (with the V shaped top) -- Male.
Gawiel's freckled friend -- female.
Bored looking elf behind the signature textbook -- male.
Studious elf with glasses-- female
Gawiel -- female.
Gawiel's dark haired friend --female.
Curious elf looking over a Qui -- male.
Arrogant looking elf -- male.
mostly unseen elf -- male.

MorgothMelkor In reply to Shabazik [2013-02-23 08:47:25 +0000 UTC]

Gah, well, at least i guessed most right. I only thozght glasses were maybe male because one male was lacking and it seemed to be the only possible conclusion....

The left one is the only "male" wearing jewelry, a V shaped top and rather unkempt/natural styled hair. Should have sticked with the Bog's solution: "distinguish them from the boobs" In that case, i couldnt have telled if glasses had some or not, but Mr.V definitely doesnt

Looks like a Minoan fresco on the wall, while the class room has a sort of monastary look to it.

Congrats on the ten complete figures and personalities in the pic! You arranged it to make it difficult to see! Certainly the robes and elves smaller attributes don't help either.

Annoyed elf who can't see through Qui's head, has intermediate features, a thick neck for a smaller elf -- Male.
Dark haired, styled hair elf yawning, is a larger elf, no hint of breasts visible despite pose -- Male.
Gawiel's freckled friend. You may be trying to trick us with what we think we already know, but with softer features and the eyelash effect -- female.
Bored looking elf behind the signature textbook, has harder features, no eyelash effect -- male.
Studious elf with glasses, already taking notes. There might be some breast evidence, some eyelash effect, on the other hand an intermediate, but smaller, face, broader shoulders -- female?
Qui, may not be in the running -- female.
Gawiel -- female.
Gawiel's dark haired friend, very slender build, long neck--female.
Curious elf looking over a Qui, intermediate features, face is pert and hair looks feminine at first glance, but face also could be boyish and hair not as nicely styled as first seems, no eyelash effect -- male.
Arrogant looking elf next row, hard planes to face, thick neck, wider shoulders, no breasts -- male.
mostly unseen elf, curly hair, but a big shoulder -- male.

Thanks! I've guessed incorrectly with elves before with your blue and red elfin pics. And also for one of Manwe's companions bringing his drunken ass home, and probably other times as well. It required analysis other than just first impressions!

While drow females are usually at least taller than the than males, other elfin races have no significant difference in heights of the genders, and generally smaller secondary sexual attributes relative to humans. With such males running around with long and styled hair and jewelry, picking out genders would be rather difficult!

Doubtlessly, elves are keyed onto the little differences so that they themselves don't get tripped up very often at all; but I certainly have before, LoL!

And some of the wild elves of Antor have males with long hair and females with much shorter hair. I wonder if that is a recent tribal development or a carryover from a High Elf colony?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shabazik In reply to larqven [2013-02-23 01:48:47 +0000 UTC]

It seems a more recent tribal development, rather from the old high elven ancestors! :3
