Description
A Concept map, showing the most powerful of the Demon Lords of Aiers, who at least once where considered to be one of the Seven Demon Princes, from the Appareance of Demons in the World of Aiers to their Disappareance.
LEGEND:
- The thicker the line, the more powerful the demon was. The thinner, the weaker it was.
- BLACK means the demon was a DEMON PRINCE, one of the SEVEN DEMON LORDS
- DARK GREY means the demon was a DEMON LORD, of the COUNCIL OF THE 66
- LIGHT GREY means that the demon was a tertiary demon lord.
The Demonic Republic of the demons of the world of Aiers consisted of a governance by a council of 66 demon lords, and a sort of executive body of seven demon princes. This arrangement was established apparently soon after the original Bazrrod demons and their oldest Izrhim Soul Shard offspring emerged from deep beneath the ground on the slopes of Mount Satanmet on Demonatch Island, between the continents of Aels and Zarhuy .
While, originally quite republican , in the later Dark Legion, -specially after the proclamation of Saatan as Lord of Demons and the Free Peoples of Aiers at the 2153 a.a.H-, the council seemed to devolve into more of a functionary role in the Dark Legion of Demons , with most of the Demon Princes serving a subsidiary role to the First among them, Saatan , and the Second, Satman who served as Saatan's 'Apprentice'.
The members of the Seven Demon Princes were not always the same, and originally in the Demonic Republic (1368 - 2153 a.a.H), while two seats were permanent and honorary -Saatan and Satman-, the other five Demon Princes were originally elected from among the kings of the 66 Demon Lords of the Senate, and served for a period of 10 years.
Initially, the power of the Seven was checked by its collegiality, and important decisions were subjected to vote, with Saatan having the power to veto decisions.
However, by the 2100s, as the power of Sataan was centralised and rose into power the demonic triumvirate of Saatan -Satman -Paimon , election of the Seven first fell into disuse and was finally abolished all together, as Saatan was proclaimed "'Lord of Demons and The Free Peoples of Aiers" at the 2153, effectively ending the Demonic Republic.
As there always were to be seven, during the dictatorship, members were replaced as old members were executed or perhaps otherwise 'retired' for various reasons. Anutkahook rose to become the second-in-command 'Apprentice' after Satman was removed from his position after attempting to betray Saatan , Prince of all Demons. The Witch King of Dol-Nur rose to this category for his own nation building skills, and as a reward for freeing the demonlords that were imprisoned after the First War of the Power , and preparing for their return.
They always were seven demon princes, but due the political organisation of the Demonic Republic, so in the moment one or more of the seven princes fell, others took their place. Normally the strongest of the demons, but not always. Anutkahook was a hulking behemoth, worshiped by the Nutks as their demon-god, but despite his impressive appearance, he was not the most powerful demon: in his case, the fact that he ruled a powerful empire helped him get the "office!"
There have been periods of time when some members of the Seven were in direct disobedience to Saatan and the others. In particular, Maelgrim, the Nigromante of Tok-Thoria declared independence of the Dark Legion and ruled his lands on his own for a time. Eventually he rejoined the Dark Legion as situations shifted. In these cases, if the rebellious Demon Lord was replaced depended on the political situation: in this case, only as the Nigromante persisted in the open defiance, Satman was able to convince Saatan to choose a replacement in Abigor , one of his creations.
Anutkahook followed the example of the Nigromante before he was raised to become one of the Seven. He survived a concerted war to bring him down; yet he engaged in the contest of the War of the Four Black Kings which propelled him to become the Second in Command following the execution of Satman for his own disobedience in seeking to overthrow Saatan.
As the War of the Four Black Kings resulted in a reunification of the Dark Legion, some historians suppose that this contest to replace Satman was intended as a scheme of Saatan to bring the divergent factions of the Dark Legion back together again.
There were moments of time when even the rank of the seven 'Demon Princes' was open for non-Bazrrods or even non-demons, as was the case of the great dragon god-king Barûm , the ruler of the Black dragons of Brûm , and Zarg'Aduul, the Dark Elf King.
I basically had this as an horrible excel. Long ago, promised to show him it -but didn't knew how-. Then had an idea how to share the info.
Aside of these demon lords -who once were one of the Seven, my list more complete have about 98 demon lords listed -secondary from the Council of the 66 and tertiary-. But that would have been too much information -this one already it is!-
