How do those things BREATHE?!
Anyway, good to see that the Polish colonists were able to return to their finest roots.

No, I mean, how does it breathe At that SIZE?
www.enotes.com/homework-help/w… .
Now, there could be a glitch in the Aires terraform program that increases oxygen levels by 50%, but then, why aren’t Carboniferous-sized Arthropods common everywhere? Aires gravity must be within 5% of 1 Earth G as it hasn’t effected the baseline size of Homo sapiens. All other Hominids sizes are determined by other factors. Giants are not big from significantly lower gravity (which would have EVREYTHING gigantic) but from something else, I’m guessing naturally occurring carbon nano fiber reinforced bones.
But while vertebrates can’t grow gigantic on a lifetime of hyper oxygenation alone, we would have all kinds of other advantages, like almost unlimited stamina, for instance.
There’s no indication of that anywhere else on Aires, however.
Furthermore, the largest naturally occurring Arthropods of all time on earth was Giganto-Scorpio, which got to about the size of a Bull crocodile in length and width, but stayed relatively flat, by less than a foot thick. It also NEVER left the water, depending on a combination of increased oxygen in the sea and buoyancy to be able to breathe.
Crabs as a subclass of crustaceans did not yet exist in the Carboniferous, but to grow larger than a coconut crab, they would need more oxygen, less gravity, or both. Either way, above a certain size, to reduce circulatory stress with increased efficiency, its body would HAVE to flatten out CONSIDERABLY, until it resembled something like a ten foot wide hubcap on shrimp legs.
Now, if magic made this beast possible, than it must be geared to specifically compensating for one or more of the usual limitations. Furthermore, does it need a steady infusion of mana to continue to work? That sounds VERY expensive.
If it loses too much, it will die, collapsing like a tank that popped every rivet simultaneously.
