Description
This is a bit of conceptual work for my book “By the sword”. The main kingdom in the story is called Crusition, a very medieval European culture similar to the fifteenth century with splashes of the Elizabethien period. I wanted to delve into some of the cultural designs, making it very traditionally medieval. I decided the main cultural designs of this kingdom focus on shaped crosses (not religious crosses with the lengthened lower point) and repetitive traditional shapes as I hope you can see on the picture. I wanted the picture to still maintain my comic book style so I took artistic license, explaining the few non-tradition elements in the armor.
Overall very happy with this picture, the armor and the embroidering.
