A fun little piece I did for my newest character, Ideal. I used a chocolate dun model horse, colourized, and added dapples. The eye, tail, and parts of the shoulder were re-drawn by me. Thank god for tablets!
As for how long it took- way too long. I thought I was done a couple of times, but then more things needed to be tweaked. All in all, it ended up being around twelve hours.

Wow... that's absolutely gorgeous; you can still kinda tell it's a model, though... but I don't expect you to be able to change it completely. You pulled the realistic look off very well, I think -- especially with the mane and tail. <3

This is stunning! You did an AMAZING job retouching that horsey. It can be quite the challenge reconstructing a horse from a model and making it look realistic, but you pulled it off very well.
