Description While I was in New Zeland I was really keen to try and see some Hector's Dolphin while I was out there. They are extremely endangered and the only place in the world you can see them is NZ, so it was definately on my to do list!

We were so lucky, we visited a place were the dolphins are locally abundant (Akora) and got to spend an amazing couple of hours with them, even saw a tiny young calf! These guys are so beautiful, they even tried to bow ride, but they aren't really built for speed so couldn't keep it up for long!

That's amazing! I think it's sad that people think dolphins are so amazing but do nothing to protect them. (Most people, anyways.)

Thank you they are a beautiful species, and it is a shame they face so many threats. There are quite a lot of people that are trying to protect them but unfortunately it may prove to be too little too late for these

yeah I felt so lucky to see them, we were in an area where they are quite locally abundant so we saw about 15 of them including a tiny calf which was incredible!

New Zealand was amazing, I wish I could go back one day! And the Hector's dolphins are so fantastic, they are beuatiful and so playful!

I love them too, so incredible and so different to all the other dolphin species I've seen!
