Let's see here. I hate doing those dumb star things, so just ignore those. I think comments are more worth while.
Lets begin with your pose because that's what you asked about. Just looking at the pose, I can tell the character is supposed to be an infant. I'm also pretty positive he is in his anthro form, not feral. Assuming that is correct, I think you did a great job with the pose and the proportions. It appears that you may have done a study or two on the baby subject, and it paid off if you did and if you didn't, that's awesome. The large head really helps to emphasize the fact that he is a baby, which is great!
The only problem I see (If I stare at it critically) is his lower right arm (straight) is longer than his lower left arm. But that really is not that noticeable.
On to the technique. I like the way that you shaded this piece. It is gentle and soft (like a baby e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Lick)"/>). I think it fits the piece very well. You seem to have a good eye for the shape of the muscles and other structures. I love how you shaded and highlighted his hair and tail and it stands out nicely.
If you don't want a lot of focus on the tail and hair, I would dull it down, or add more detail to his body fur. I'm very impressed with the fur work on the hair and tail, but it certainly is the focal point because of the color and the attention to detail. You do have enough to make the rest of his body look fuzzy, but I would experiment with some short fur techniques with his body. Maybe that would help even things out?
I love this piece overall, and I think it benefits from the simple background, however, I feel like he is in a different lighting than the grass behind him. This is probably due to a lack of highlights and shadows? I dunno. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Lick)"/>
I hope this is the kind of thing you are looking for. Also, I hope it give you some direction on things you could improve ^.^

Not much... It would be good to have a wee bit more contrast... Deeper shadows and maybe a few more highlights. Other than that... I have nothing to critisize!
