Description Another month has passed on by since Miriame was taken in by her "uncle" and she has been enjoying herself so far, being trained, getting a nice gift of some new clothing and also going to the beach. However, today just was mean to her when she awoke with the morning sickness, something all mothers-to-be, willing or unwilling, usually deal with. So, she had to rush to the washroom as soon as she could.

"Ugh.., I hate this... Why do I have to deal with this?" Miriame wondered before losing her cookies once again. Thankfully, her "uncle" was preparing something soothing to hopefully help for her to drink. "In fact, how did mom deal with this while she was carrying me and my brother?" She then heard a knock on the door, followed by her "uncle's" voice.

"Are you okay, Miriame? Morning sickness again?" asked Shadow, which he got his answer when he heard her puking once again. "Yeah, morning sickness again." So, he waited until she was done and exited the washroom, which he handed her a drink to help ease her nausea and cleanse her mouth and throat of any "leftovers." She took the drink nice and slow, so she doesn't toss it back up. It tasted a bit bitter at first, but it was replaced with a sweet and soothing taste.

"Uncle, what is this?" asked Miriame when she finished the drink and handed the empty cup to Shadow.

"A ginger and peach combo drink, to help ease the stomach and make any leftovers go away," replied Shadow. "I figured you needed something after that bout of morning sickness." Miriame nodded as a small smile appeared on her face.

"Yes, thank you, uncle Shadz," said Miriame. She then realized that she was just wearing her undergarments since she was woken up rudely by her morning sickness and didn't have time to get properly dressed. This made her very embarrassed, but Shadow thought ahead and handed her her clothes. She thankfully took them and went back into the washroom and got herself dressed. Afterwards, they went to the dining room, where Shadow had prepared a hearty breakfast for them both.

"Eat up as much as you can, Miriame. Then once you feel up to it, we can start up the training session for today," said Shadow before taking a seat. Miriame carefully took her place at the table and took her time with her breakfast. Within the next half hour, Shadow trained Miriame some more techniques regarding the offensive stance of the praying mantis and how to maintain the balance when trying to deliver a kick in that stance. The training went well for the most part, but afterwards, the sickness kicked in again and Miriame had to rush back to the washroom. It was then the phone rang, which Shadow was quick to answer. It was Juley on the phone.

"Morning, bro. How is Miriame faring?" asked Juley.

"Well, she's having a second bout of morning sickness," Shadow answered. "And the first time was when she was about to wake up."

"Oh, dear. I know how she feels," said Juley with a bit of a worried tone in her voice. "And we still haven't caught the bastard who did this to her, either. I swear, when I get my hands on him, he'll be without..." She then growled in anger, but regained herself before getting to enraged. "Sorry bout that. Anyway, I'm calling to let you know that I'm going to be coming over tomorrow to bring some of Miriame's things that she has forgotten and to check up on her myself."

"Alrighty, Juley. I will say that she's a good fighter, and getting better every day. Although, I don't train her every day. She'd get too tired and that wouldn't be good," said Shadow.

"That's good, because I'd kick your butt if you overwork her," said Juley before giggling. "Anyway, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye, Shweetay." She then hung up. Shadow also placed the phone back onto the receiver, just as Miriame slowly walked in, still feeling weak from her tossing her cookies.

"Who.. was that on the phone?" Miriame asked her "uncle" before taking a seat.

"That was your mother, Miriame. She called to let me know that she'll be coming over, to bring some things of yours that you might have forgotten and to also check up on you," Shadow replied as he looked over to her. Miriame was showing a small smile, which faded a moment later as she then looked away slightly.

"She... doesn't need to..," said Miriame in an almost silent tone of voice. Shadow kneeled down and gently placed a hand on her chin and looked at her.

"She is your mother, Miriame. Even though you're not a little kid anymore, you're still her daughter and she tends to worry about you," said Shadow in a serious and calm tone. "Especially with the event that happened to you. What happened was just awful and if you were my daughter, I'd feel the same way." Miriame just looked at him as she allowed his words to sink in, her small smile returning before giving her "uncle" a hug.

"Th-thank you, 'uncle.' I'm glad to have someone as caring as you," said Miriame before letting a few tears flow. Shadow just returned her hug and carefully held her head in his right hand. He then got back up and smiled.

"I'll get you something to drink, then we can train a bit more," said Shadow just before he went into the kitchen to get another anti-ick drink. The rest of the day went well as Miriame didn't had to make a rush to the washroom afterwards.

The next day, after another hearty breakfast, there was a knock on the door. So, Shadow went to the door to open it, and Juley was on the other side, with a big bag in her right hand.

"Hey, Shweetay. Could I come in?" Asked Juley, even though she already knew the answer. Shadow nodded and she entered, placing the bag down near the coat rack. She looked at Shadow for a moment, gave him a big smile, then headed to the living room. Shadow then went to tell Miriame that her mother has arrived, only to hear that she already knew as he heard her calling to her mom. He took a peek and saw the two hugging each other.

"Mom, I missed you..," said Miriame, some tears flowing down her cheeks. Juley was gently rubbing her daughter's back and head.

"I know, sweetie. I know," replied Juley, trying her best to calm her daughter down. As she was doing so, Shadow went to the kitchen to get some cups of water for himself, Miriame and Juley.

"Have.., have you found the creep who did this to me?" Miriame asked her mother, who sadly shook her head. That made her more upset as she tightened her hug on her mother, which Juley could feel a lot. Her daughter was a bit stronger than she knew before.

"Miriame! Be careful!" cried out Juley, which made her daughter loosen her grip on her mother.

"S-s-sorry, mom," replied Miriame as she blushed with embarrassment and worry. But she didn't know that her training had increased her strength. Juley was slightly panting as Shadow brought in the water. He looked a bit confused at what had transpired while he was getting the water, but he didn't bother to ask. He handed a cup to Juley, then one to Miriame. They soon talked about what was done during the past month, including the trip to the beach and Shadow getting her a gift of two new swimsuits, which made Shadow blush a tiny bit.

"Well, I'm kinda glad he did that. For some reason, I couldn't find your old pair. It's like they vanished," said Juley as she sheepishly rubbed the back of her head.

"Oh, really? It's not in the usual place where I had them?" asked Miriame as she slightly tilted her head. Her mom just shook her head. "Huh, that is weird."

They then talked a bit more and then Miriame showed a few moves that she learned to her mother, which made her happy to see. Then, it was about time for her to head back home, and to also try to find some more clues where the creep ran off to.

"Be kind to Shweetay, Miriame. He may look tough, but he could be rather fragile," said Juley to her daughter as she gave her a big hug. Shadow looked rather grumpy and hurt when he heard that, but in truth she was kidding.

"I won't, mom. Thank you for coming to check on me and bringing some of my stuff that I forgot," said Miriame as she returned the hug. Juley then kissed her daughter on her forehead and gently rubbed her head, too. Then after saying goodbye, headed back home. The farewell was a bit upsetting, but Miriame knows that she'll see her mother again later on, and that Shadow's keeping good care of her. Shadow came over and gently placed a hand on her shoulder, in which she looked back at him with misty eyes.

"Hey, do you want to train just a bit more before we head out for dinner? You can choose the place this time," said Shadow. Instantly, Miriame knew just the place that they'll be going to after the training session.

"Yes, of course," said Miriame as she carefully wiped away the tears that were coming around. So they began another training session, which was a very successful session, and then they went out to a very nice place with the juiciest burgers and very crispy fries that also came along in a combo with a drink of their choice. This month was going to be another good one.., even though Miriame still had to deal with a few more bouts of morning sickness.

The end... for now?
