This wasn't in Frozen, won't be in Frozen 2. Hans is a douchebag.

Ah...if only this was in the movie, it would have made this so much better in my opinion, as opposed to what was. Think of it, Elsa could have been the villain struggling with the aspects of good and evil within her, and Hans could have been a heroic character who falls under the sway of the mythical ice queen, instead of being a character who was made into a villain at the last minute during the movie production. It would have added more dept for the characters and driven the story into a direction that truly would have made the kids think and the adults could really appreciate. Then again, I am someone who dreams that Disney, or any animation company for that matter finally grows the balls needed to make something as epic, triumphant, and as dark and mature as Fantasia's "Night on Bald Mountain" segment, or the underrated Disney classic, "Something Wicked This way Comes".

If Elsa had truly ended up being tragic villain of the story then there would have been no need for a character of Hans, because Anna would have been the sole protagonist of the movie, and foil to the Queen.

Actually there still could have been a need for the character of Hans. He could have been Elsa's love interest who tries to save her but fails and instead becomes her pawn in the dark side.

Ah, but therein lies the rub, Elsa doesn't need a love interest. She is much more fascinating alone and free.

Yeah, but it would have added more to the story, plus they could have been love interests but go their separate ways afterward yet still remain friends or something like that.

While it is true that money is hard to ignore, it is still possible to ignore it when it comes to true art.
