Description This is a Canadian Goose (Branta canadensis). He is somewhere between being full grown and a gosling, not quite either. I guess in bird "years" it means he is a pre-teen. Pretty cute with the down feathers still attached. His mommy and daddy let me get pretty close without worrying too much. His mommy actually ate from my hands.

Personal note:

There is always improvement to be made with any photographer, artist or writer, the way we learn is through others critiquing our work in gentle supportive ways. If there is anything I can learn from never hesitate.

I will put this up for print without the watermark if anyone is interested.

Putting in deviant art journals is okay just please send me a comment or a link on it if you use it. Also if you have any questions regarding using this, please send me a note and we will talk about it.

I fed the goose's mother a little bit of bread and got my fingers snapped, she was so gentle I hardly felt it. We have had one of the big white geese follow us around like a puppy. Everyone kept asking if the could pet it, we said if it didn't mind then we were okay with it. That thing followed us around for about an hour. He loved his head and neck petted. lol. That was a few years ago but I still remember it like it was yesterday.

Sounds nice. I like cranes a lot. They are pretty skittish, long lenses help.
