Super Mario RPG is very much a classic to many oldschool gamers who grew up with an SNES. While the game is very much a beginners RPG meant to introduce the basics (it has simple elements, basic equipment, and overall is fairly easy for an RPG), many people fell in love with it because of the uniqueness of playing an RPG featuring Mario and the gang.

Despite this, Square added a few unique characters, one of which was a character named "Booster" who lived in Booster Tower, with his Snifits who aided him on daily things. We never learn much about who Booster is, only that he comes from a Long Line of Boosters and that he mostly enjoys harmless games. Despite this, he becomes integral to the story, as he is the one who found Princess Peach after Exor slammed into Bowser's castle.

Despite being a key character at this point in the story, Booster is actually an optional Boss fight at this point, as one can only battle him if they get caught by his Snifits 3 times during the "Evasion minigame" at the end of Booster Tower. Booster is actually one of the harder bosses in the game, sporting 800 HP, and a ton of unique moves, one of which being "Loco Express" which will likely KO a member of Mario's team at this point in the game.

Interestingly enough, Booster shares a lot of similarities to another Mario villain; Wario. Including his brute strength, his affinity for bombs, and his large teeth. Despite this; Booster sports a beard and a viking cap as well as welding goggles, making him kinda like a cross between Wario and FFIV Cid. Many people often compare Booster to Wario, and wonder why Square didn't just use him... but, looking back; this was long before Wario became a mainstay to the Mario series (his only appearance before this was in Mario Land 2: 6 Gold Coins and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3). Wario didn't really hit the major Mario scene until Mario Kart 64 and Mario Tennis, when he became a fan favorite.
