Well, they are both the same clown. Rainbow Jack (as I call him) was Laughing Jack in the past before he was abandoned by his "best friend for life" for 13 years in a jack-in-a-box.
As he waited for Isaac (His best friend for life) he began to change, and his colors began to melt away, later turning into his recent
form; which it's the monochrome version of him. :3
So the answer to your question is: They are both the real Laughing Jack.
