Description Why? Because I'm weird, that's why.

For a while now, I've had it in my head to write a fanfiction crossover between two unrelated videogames - "The Legend of Zelda" (series) and "Shadow of the Colossus."

I read somewhere that when Nintendo created "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" that some of their inspiration for the aesthetic came from Team ICO's works - I'm inclined to believe it - with heavy presence of "shadow beings," forlorn spirits, Real is Brown and glowing runes. (Then again, I'm also convinced that Twilight Princess took inspiration from the original "TRON" flim, but I digress...

I've seen a couple of crossovers of these two games on The Fanfiction Network, but, so far, neither of them are like the ideas I've had in mind. I don't know if I'll actually write the hypothetical fanfic, but mulling over concepts in my head... well, this concept-art of "Link transformed into a Colossus" was just begging me to be created.

I took inspiration from Link's wolf-form, since many of the Colossi are animal-like and I thought his manacle-and-chain would translate well as a part of a Colossus' armor. The various Colossi in "Shadow of the Colossus" seem to be in three categories: Man-like, quadraped beast-like - and serpentine. The Link-Colossus combines all of these things. He's a beast-type quadraped with man-like hands and a "hat" that mimics the bodies of the leviathan-type Colossi.

I even thought of the placement of the glowing seals and how one might climb and fight him if he were a part of the game (SotC). Look at him and try to figure it out. Yes, the big seal is a Triforce. No, it's not on his hand - commence whining. It wouldn't show up well in the art if I did that. Think of it as his "heart-seal."

Hey, if people can make their favorite film, tv-show, anime and game characters into My Little Ponies and Lion King style Lions, giant mecha, Pokemon and whatever else, I can make them into Colossi.

Acrylic on paper.

Amazing! I didn't know you were also such a good drawer/painter! xd Yes, this is a true Link-Colossus. I can easily imagine him in your story. This is a great design. I recognize Link in it, especially his wolf form, yet this picture also screams "Colossus"! Just like in the actual story, you combined LoZ and SotC perfectly!

(I'm daimee, by the way)

Either up his legs and back or his beard and a run across his hat...
Two amazing games, one amazing piece of art. Well done!

I could also almost see this as a "What if Wolf Link wore the fused shadow helm", but maybe that's just me. A backdrop would be awesome for scale, but even without it this thing looks like it should be smeggin' massive, dwarfing even most of Hyrule Castle Town, but maybe not quite the castle itself.

Wow, both eerie and amazing at the same time. I'd like to see your Colossus Link in a landscape so we can see his sheer size. A follow up to this design would be nice to see.

I was thinking of adding a teeny, tiny Zelda, but I really wanted to focus on the Colossus Link, so I left her out.

If I ever do the fanfic, it will require illustration, hmm?
