The bubbles are a nice touch, and I quite like the fairy lights in the hair too. I do think the patterning on the clothing adds something as opposed to when its just flat colour with shading, too. All textures have a patterning to them, even if its very slight.

Very nice colors! And such a nice dress too. I love the way you use textures, it makes everything more lively

This is missing some of the great profile curves in their faces that you have in some of your other drawings. I do really like those Victorian styled outfits though

How odd that a tutorial book would actually unimprove your work - must have been a very bad book. What was it if you don't mind my asking?
and since your lines are old I am sure that your newer works are much better then. I used to go back and try and re-do old works and it was always a disaster because I kept realizing more and more that was wrong and couldn't be fixed. I eventually knew better than to go back because it just didn't work anymore.

It was called Human Anatomy made amazingly easy by Christopher Hart. And while the anatomy side of things was... helpful enough. The part for faces has left me exceptionally frustrated. Like I sat through and did and redid the chapter for that. And now everyone looks terrible and I've no idea why. I've about fixed it now except that the foreheads always seem too long. Or the faces too flat. I think it's maybe because all of the stuff he does is very stylized and I am not looking to do that at all.
It's maybe cause I've had the flu for awhile too, like throws off your concentration but I'll see. I always get worried I've hit like my personal threshold. Like oh noes, I am never gonna improve. But that's just silly, it's all about understanding.
I hope so. I've not done anything I am really pleased with in a long time though. I think I understand what you mean though, it's very easy to over work a picture. Especially when a tablet is involved.

Ahh, the cliche of heavily defined male features and overly soft female features! I hate that. Because it's not always like that. Sometimes men can look softer and sometimes women have squared off jaws and then what?
Aww, well thank you for the compliment! And I have really come a far way and I'm still amazed at how I'm still improving. I can do things I didn't even know I could do sometimes. I still really need to improve on drawing without reference though - that is my weakness.
