i loe gooses, this pictures brings to my memory a old story that iยดd read long time ago about a injuried goose, was born with out feets, and a good man toke this goose (he bought it to the owners , who wasnยดt sell it because it had a female partner, and the man bought both gooses) and the man was mechanic and loves to fix things, and he try to fix the injuried goose, and he bought a small pair of baby shoes, and he adjust it to fit perfectly in to the gooseยดs feet, and suspend it with a rope with a chestpiece and try to handle the goose like a marionet (i do not know if you have an idea) and literally the mans teachs to the goose how to walk its firsts baby footsteps, a couple of weeks after that the goose learns itself to walk and run like a normal goose, is a very cute history

I really like this. I feel like I'm there at the beach looking at him. I only wish I could see more of his face though. Other than that,

i can't really explain the reason why i like this pic . not becouse i'm without word but bcos my english is soooo pooor.
so i have to be ermetic . i like originality and technique of that pic so well contrasted and so "dark" about the colors...nice job
(i hope that u can understand my words)

again like in your other photos you captured a great moment. And again i am wandering how did you do it. My own cat won't le me get that close to it and you do to wild animals.

Shalora In reply to DePixel [2005-10-12 01:10:52 +0000 UTC]

Well, like most geese that live in parks, this one is fed all the time by humans and therefore wasn't scared of us. It walked away after it realised that we had nothing to feed it, but I had already taken this photo.

I definatley like herman.once i went out into the field by our house and took a whole bunch of pictures of geese. but then(me not knowing much about cameras back then) i wound it up with the door open exposed the whole roll of film.

I remember my sister found a goose egg and named it Eggbert.. not sure what happened to it.. maybe THAT'S Eggbert!!
ha, or not.
Lovely picture, I love the bright blue sky and the sea behind him.. it reminds me of a day at the beach.

It's an excellent picture. You shouldn't remove something like that. Someone will always like it in the future, and even if they don't, who cares? If YOU like it, keep it in your gallery.

I love the simplicity of Herman. The way you captured him with his head to the side gives a good view of him and the background of the sea is wonderful, with the horizon off the centre of the page, it gives a more intimate feeling of closeness to Herman.

Some of you other images are wonderful too. I don't have much time to comment on all of them but your technique of black and white and colour reduction is moving itself up quite nicely. Marvellous jobs on all your new deviations and it's good to have you back. I haven't seen much of you lately so I'm glad to look at your new work.

I'll look at all of them in detail when I get the time. Since I've finished school all I've been doing is work and errands. It's not that fun, but it gets good money .

Cheers,
Annie.
