Description Bead art of Link from Legend of Zelda. Original pixel art by Orkimides and his Card Saga War. This was actually beaded before by SerenaAzureth and this is my take on it. Once Christmas is done, I'll attach it to a painted canvas to mount it on the wall.

There's 3 brands of beads I use. They're called "perler", "hama" and "nabbi". There's a new one from China called "artkal" but haven't used it yet. You can buy them from craft stores like Michaels or Joann's fabrics if those are near you. They are placed on a pegboard and melted together with an iron. There's a website with any information you may need. It's pixelgasm-forum.com. Have fun!

I just make them as a hobby, but if someone wants to buy them, I sell them. This one has already been sold though.

Do you happen to have a pattern for this piece or the pixel art that you can zoom in on to make it? I'm a huge Perler Bead enthusiast and I would love to make this and hang it in my apartment. I have only been making things for a few weeks now as my new hobby and I work next to a craft store that sells the beads by the bag full so I really would like to challenge myself and make this. It looks amazing. Zelda is my favorite game and Adult Link is my favorite Link! XD

8094 beads. Cost me about $20 to make and the better part of 3 days...

1nflames In reply to ShampooTeacher [2011-08-17 11:16:19 +0000 UTC]

do you have like the colors and number of beads for each, i really want to make one lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShampooTeacher In reply to 1nflames [2011-08-17 15:51:04 +0000 UTC]

You'll need 4 shades of green, 4 shades of brown, 3 shades of yellow, 3 shades of grey and a few other colours. I'm not about to count out 8,000 pixels for you and divide them by colour. Just use Photoshop or Gimp and use the "select by colour" tool and use the Histogram window to tell you how many to order. This is kind of advanced for a first project...

The best source to buy beads is bakerskidscrafts on ebay. Contact Michelle directly at gmrcdbaker13@bellsouth.net for a better price. You can find a lot of great information about bead spriting at pixelgasm-forum.com, including tutorials.

ShampooTeacher In reply to the-last-jennicorn [2010-08-29 03:53:28 +0000 UTC]

Something like that on a painted canvas I would sell for $100. Just the beads without the canvas, $70. Not sure how difficult it would be to ship it somewhere, but I'm sure it can be done. Maybe between two sturdy pieces of cardboard.

the-last-jennicorn In reply to ShampooTeacher [2010-08-30 09:30:39 +0000 UTC]

That sounds pretty reasonable. Would you mind if I sent you a note with what I was interested in, please, just to see if it's something that can be done?
