Man.. anywhere from ten minutes to ten hours (I've done that twice, but I don't think I will ever again)

Fish aren't bad, but the thing is, Koi is supposed to go upstream, in order to climb up to the 'Dragon Gate' and transform into a dragon (which would later land as a tattoo on the back). Unless it's marked with maple leaves, etc. which would symbolise the coming of Fall (while when it's facing up it should be with cherry blossoms, or lotus, etc. like in this case).
Either way, most people won't notice anyway, but I still think you should know your shit if you're getting tattoo'd.
