Description I tried a different brand of watercolor paper and it wouldn't easily accept my paint. As a result, this was a painful little painting to work on. I'm glad it's finished.

This is really beautiful - I especially love the delineation of the stronger and weaker lines - it has a splendid art nouveau look to it, with a lovely original twist. I love it!

What gorgeous line art and subtle colouring... almost resembles stained glass The way her hair fades from auburn to white is a particularly delicious touch, which falls in line with the title... as though she's literally become one with the flower

Beautiful piece! very pretty facial features and I like how you've graduated the colour through her hair. Just wondering the underlying texture of the whole piece - is that the texture of the paper showing though the paint?

Yes, the paper was especially rough and I had a hard time with it. I just purchased a pad of hot press paper and can't wait to use it! Thanks so much for the feedback!

Thanks, Patty. I'm hoping to be more productive in the cold months ahead as well. I really haven't worked much on the contest. This weekend was very busy. I've started another piece and I'm hoping to get most of it knocked out before next weekend. But you know how crazy life can get!

I think the painful process was worth it; she's beautiful.
It seems to have this beautiful candid intimacy to it.
I love the faded hair, but her face seems a little pink in places.

Thank you! Yes, I totally agree about her skin tone. I thought it looked a bit on the pink side. I mix my own skin tones and I'm always worried about adding too much yellow. I'll have to be more careful with the reds next time!
