i can see why you struggled with the background. it looks beautiful, but i like it better without the background. the black pencil is much more obvious on this version too i think, but maybe that's just because of the soft colours.

Your work never ceases to be fantastic. This reminds me of the illustration in some lovely fairy tale book (though I'm hard pressed to think of a fairy tale that actually had unicorns in it), and coming from someone who loves fairy tales, that's high praise.
