This is really cool. If you don't mind me asking, what materials did you use to make this. Whenever I try to work on that kind of paper I can never get the smooth, solid effect that you've got going here.

I used a brown pen on toned brown recycled paper and then scanned the image and added a little color and highlights in photoshop. You can see the video of me drawing it on youtube at

I hear you man...
I feel like my voice has this annoying nasal tone going on.
Then I try to compensate by deepening and lowering my tone and it sounds even worse.

Great work! The face is cute, the pattern and body scales look smooth and shimmering, and the belly scales look so real (as real as they can, anyway).

Rarely do I use an eraser. Think about what you want to draw and don't worry about mistakes. Go with the flow and be deliberate but loose with your lines work.
