Personality:
Energetic | Polite | Decisive | Gentle
Dutiful | Calm | Quiet
Judgmental | Dismissive | Idealistic | Proud
Energetic - "I'll have plenty of time to rest when I am dead..."
With seemingly endless amounts of energy Dusk never stops moving. He always has to be doing something to keep him busy, which usually resorts in him perfecting his hunting or fighting skills. He tries his best to be as enthusiastic and helpful as he possibly can when it comes to his pack, as moral is very important for a good quality of life. While with age he had become more quiet his spirit has never faded.
Polite - "I apologize. I never meant to upset or offend..."
Since he was the son of the alphas of his pack, he was treated with massive amounts of respect, not only from his pack but from all pack wolves that he encountered. From a young age he loved that others were nice to him just because they had to but as he grew older he realized that being respected just was a part of his title and they acted nice in order to get on his good side. But he wanted to change that. He wanted them to be nice and respectful simply because he had earned it, not because it was given to him. And the first step was to stop being arrogant and immature, and treat his pack mates how they treated him.
Decisive - "Do not fret, I will figure this out."
Being raised to be a protector and warrior, Dusk was taught to make decisions quickly while not being too rash or foolish. He takes in all of the possible risks and outcomes and makes a decision. He however, almost always tries to take the moral high ground by making the decision that will not put any lives in unnecessary danger.
Gentle - "It can be quite off putting when such a large, fierce wolf possesses such a soft heart" ~ Selene
Despite his massive size, Dusk is a very kind and gentle wolf, especially toward those who he is close to. He never means to upset anyone, no matter who it is and will try his best to make it up to them. He puts the feelings of others before his own, and no matter how he might be feeling he is always going to be the one to comfort others, not be the one getting comforted.
Dutiful - "This is my responsibility and I will take care of it."
Driven and enthusiastic, he will gladly do what is expected of him and will most likely do more if he feels the need. He doesn't complain and usually refuses any help unless he is absolutely sure he can't do it himself. He mainly doesn't like help because he doesn't want to impose on others even if they do offer. This however can take a turn if someone keeps insists on helping when he doesn't need help. In those cases he does get very irritated and often snaps at them regardless if there intentions are good or not. Of course he always feel terrible after that happens.
Calm - "I see no need in getting worked up over minuscule problems."
Dusk is calm almost to the point of being stoic. No matter what could have happened he never lets his sadness or anger show as he tries incredibly hard to maintain his positive and energetic appearance in order to spare his pack mates. Even in the face of danger Dusk refuses to show fear or hesitation, he just does what he believes is right. He strongly thinks that taking his emotions out of the equation makes life a lot easier.
Quiet - "Being quiet simply takes away a voice that I must listen to."
Always watching but rarely involved. He talked only when needed and even then its not a lot, but he had learned to talk in a way that doesn't require alot of words in order to get his point across. He liked to listen since he learns a lot more about others by listening to what they say and how they say it since he does come off as intimidating at first. Because of this he thinks that they will not be honest if he were to be the one talking to them.
Judgmental - "I value first impressions. It lets me know whether you will know me long enough to leave a lasting one..."
While Dusk is very judgmental he rarely doesn't judge based on looks. He prefers to form an opinion based on actions. He is at fault for making too many assumptions about others and that tends to dissuade him from making friends. However, though this he has become good at seeing through others, making his judgement more and more accurate. He tends to notice and take into account the little things about a wolf and forms and idea based on that. Though these opinions are easily changed with what he learns and observes.
Dismissive - "I like to live a simple life but feelings...they complicate things."
Thought he is never dismissive toward others, he is quite closed off when it comes to himself, and more specifically this thoughts and feelings. Being taught to focus on the bigger picture and the idea of putting others before himself, it had caused him to become detached to himself in a sense. He disregards his feelings mainly because he has gained a reputation for being kind, positive and calm and he doesn't want to burden anyone by revealing the real him.
Idealistic - "Why would you aim to simply improve when you could aim for perfection?"
Ever since he was a pup, Dusk has always strived to be the best. In his adolescence he spend much of his time devoted to perfecting his skills both in combat and diplomacy. But what started as a simple goal quickly grew into an obsession and spread beyond him. It got to the point where he would not accept anything but the best from both himself and his pack mates. His is constantly looking to achieve perfection but never quite reaches it as he tells himself that there is still room for improvement.
Proud - "What is the point of living if you cannot be proud of what you have done."
Due to his passion for improving himself, his skills quickly outshone those of his pack mates and did nothing to dampen his arrogant nature. He took great pride in him position and abilities. Thought he has mellowed out with age, he if still extremely proud of what he has achieved and will become slightly defensive if anyone tries to discredit him.

Backstory:
Pre-Group History:
Dusk was the youngest and only male pup born to the Alphas of a pack far outside the Sanctuary, along with two older sisters. His parents where well known and respected along many packs, not just there own. His fathers sheer size and strength and his mothers quick wit and manipulative nature, combined they formed a powerful rule which dissuaded any other packs from attacking. In their packs culture, the alpha and their offspring were respected above all others, treated as though they were sent from the heavens in order to lead the pack into greatness. If the litter had more then one pup, the younger pups would be raised to be the Alphas Advisers or they would be partnered with high bred wolves of other packs. It was decided quickly after they he was born that Dusk would be raised as a warrior and would be paired with another high bred from a neighboring pack in a courtship was simply a way to strengthen the bond between the two groups.
From the time that Dusk and his siblings had left the den they were all trained in the art of combat and diplomacy. He was mainly trained by the packs lead warrior and one of his parents Advisers. Having inherited many of his fathers characteristics such as his physical stature and natural leadership abilities, Dusk took to the training easily and excelled beyond even his parents expectations. However, the praise and respect he had received since birth made Dusk conceited and arrogant and led to many conflicts with his mentors, who often gave him harsh criticisms. He believed that he was the best and that since he was the bet why did he need to improve.
When he was about two years old, he had risen through the ranks of the pack and went unchallenged in his title of best warrior in the pack. But that changed when a young loner was accepted into the pack. He was about the same age and size and Dusk and surely had strength to match. Without Dusk knowing, his mentors had persuaded his oldest sister Whisper to allow the male to join, in order to teach him a lesson. Before long the new male, named Erebus and Dusk had formed a healthy rivalry toward each other. They often trained together, But Erebus bested him in every way. Regardless Dusk was determined to be better. But it seemed like every time he improved so did Erebus. This left Dusk furious and desperate. He trained tirelessly and soon became obsessed with improving, perfecting his techniques and strategies. He had to be better, he was his fathers son. He would not be beaten by some random loner. He would not allow it.
Finally feeling as though he was strong enough to beat his rival, Dusk made the bold decision to challenge the wolf. Erebus accepted and the duel ensued. Both wolves gave it there all, matching each other blow for blow. But all of those nights of endless training proved their worth when Dusk predicted that Erebus would try to go for his shoulder which would have knocked him off balance and put in him on a position where he couldn't be able to win. Thankfully Dusk got out of the way in time and dealt the winning blow. Both exhausted, Erebus congratulated the victor and revealed his respect for Dusk and just like that, their rivalry quickly turned to a close friendship.
After the fight, Dusk realized a few things. He learned that there is always room to improve, and you should always try to improve. He also learned that respect should be earned, not given to him simply because he was highborn. He will forever be grateful for Erebus for teaching him those lessons. Over time the pair grew closer, to the point where they were inseparable. They hunted together, patrolled together, trained together, they even slept next to each other every night.
One day, His parents and sisters gathered the Alpha's den. They told him that they had had decided who his mate would be. A young she-wolf named Aiyla from a pack who has been seeking an alliance for some time and that she would be arriving the next morning. For some reason, he felt devastated at the news. He didn't want a mate. Then it hit him, he already loved someone. But he knew he could not go against his parents, so he complied. He did seek comfort in his sisters, but Whisper was not much of a help as she was rarely around. Thankfully Raine was also getting paired off with a wolf from a different pack, which she was not pleased about either. That night Dusk found the courage to reveal his feelings to his sister Raine, but he found little comfort in her words.
The next morning, Aiyla arrived as well as Raine's future mate. Aiyla was pretty and kind but didn't compare to Erebus.
Gradually over the next few months, Dusk and Erebus grew more and more apart. They no longer hunted or trained together and they no longer slept in the same den. Though they saw each other everyday, they rarely spoke. And no matter how hard Dusk tried to forget, the feelings he had remained. He knew they could never be together, and Aiyla was nice enough, that given time, Dusk was sure he would grow to love her.
But his carefully concealed emotions broke free when Erebus came limping into camp, bloody and weak. He said had tried to hunt to clear his mind but humans had found him and attacked him with there thunderous tree branches. Dusk was completely beside himself at what had happened and refused to leave his friends side. And as much as he prayed and hoped that he would be okay, Erebus succumbed to his wounds the next morning.
The pack tried to console him after losing Erebus, but he didn't want to be comforted. He wanted to forget. He thought it would be easier if he could just forget him.
Not long after, just when he thought it wouldn't get any worse, his eldest sister Whisper vanishes and the pack spirals into chaos. Thankfully his parents were still technically the Alphas and managed to do damage control before things got too out of control. After days of searching turned up nothing, fear began to take hold of Dusk's mind. He began to have nightmares of his sister being found dead or that she would return like Erebus, all bruised and bloody before dying from the injuries.
But she was alive, she had to be. And Dusk was determined to find her. He couldn't lose someone else he loved. When he told Aiyla of his plan she insisted that she go with him, but he refused. He wanted to her to be safe and he didn't know what would happen to him once he left.
Once he did leave, he tried his best to follow her now faint trail but he managed. It took him to a place that he had never seen or even heard of before. Still he traveled on, his determination never waning.
Much like his sister who ventured there before him, he too was captured by the humans. Waking up in a strange and cold box his limps were sore and his mind in shambles. Slowly the box was moving shakily, making it impossible for Dusk to stand. Once the rocking stopped and he was finally able to stand, daylight flooded the box as one side opened. Forcing his legs to move, he crept out of the box and onto the grass outside. He stood, taking in the surroundings before turning his pounding head. He gazed at the strange creatures called humans, before the faintest scent of something vaguely familiar caught his attention and he bolted toward it. He would see his sister again.
