The Clone Trooper CT-1008 was well known inside the Grand Army of the Republic ever since he had served under Jedi General Plo Koon during the Battle of Phorose, when images of the battle were taken from his clone-cam by journalist Endaw N'gard'm to write about it. CT-1008 had whitnessed the immense destruction of the once paradise world during the conflict and blamed it all on the Jedi's incompetence as uncapable military leaders, the in their majority non-human Separatists and the Republic's own, way too week government and democracy. Therefore CT-1008 was one of the Clones who sided with Sidious once the Inhibitor Chip had been removed by Command of Supreme Chancellor Padmé Amidala, when the Imperialists started their coup under Tarkin against the Republic. While not in it's overall majority successful, some Galactic Republic border regions alongside contested space to the Confederacy of Independent Systems broke away from the Republic and formed the Galactic Empire.
CT-1008, by now was known as Aftermath coninued to serve the Empire in it's fight against the Republic and the Separatists, even after Tarkin had died in Battle. During this time Aftermath also was promoted to a Imperial ARC-Trooper and became the original of a bunch of new Imperial modified ARC Trooper Clones, after he had managed to kill a Jedi in a duel with his on skills in swordfighting. For years now it had been a habit of CT-1008 to train and carry a swoard around with himself after he had taken it from a Separatist Commando Droid and after the victory over the Jedi, he even tattooed a sword on his face, showing his pride that had earned him so much respect and a promotion. What Aftermath did not share about his story however, was the fact that he had only defeated the Jedi by pure accident and sheer luck, not his astonishing skills in swordfighting. In fact he had used a stun grenade to temporary blurr the Jedi's sences and then attacked him from behind, but as that did not sound as cool and heroic as the version he later told his Imperial Commander. So after a promotion and much praising, Aftermath remained by his lie and became the reason why the Imperial Army Cloned a pretty much average Clone Trooper as their new gene pool for the next Generation of ARC's.
This Imperial ARC Troopers later served against the Separatist Offensive and much to the Imperial Generals and Admiral surprise, the Clones made out of CT-1008 were not what they had hoped at all. Aftermath's Clones were average compared to the Rest of the Clone Army, nothing worth of a ARC Trooper or a Clone Commando in any way or form. This setback proved one of the major fatal flaws for the Imperial Remnant, since it turned out to be a massive waste of credits, ressources and time, things the Empire, unlike it's Republic and Separatist enemies did not have after the losses it had over the last months and years. A failure that resulted in the Imperial Purge, the killing of a few hundred Imperial Officers and Commanders who were branded as traitors, sometimes because of incompetence and corruption, often because other Imperials aimed to get into their position. Only a few dozend times, this Imperial Purge truly managed to take out a few Republic and Separatist Spies, Ifiltrators and Saboteurs.
In the End even Aftermath was integrated and questioned during the hunt for real, or possible traitors and his lie led to his own demise at the end. Believing to be a Republic traitor and having sabotaged the Imperial ARC Clones on purpose, the Imperial Command found Aftermath to be guilty of crimes against the Empire and High Treason. Because he was just a Clone, the Empire believed him to be unfit for slavery and so he was simply executed by a firing squad of his own Imperial Clone Brothers. Clearly his own quest for fame, promotion and glory inside the Imperial Ranks played a huge part of his own lie and the downfall that came with it. While not one of the most skilled Clones under the Imperial Order, CT-1008 aka Aftermath was at least one of the more famous ones, even if he wished otherwise during the End of his Life.
