Trying out my new Polychromos on a portrait of my little princess. We don't get snow where we live so that element has been added from imagination.This picture is an entry for Realism-Art's Contest "Holidays" [link]

Splendid realism and really wonderful colors! If I may be genuine I confess thats gotta be be the coolest piece of winter gear ever! Her majesty's crown is adorable and you've visualized it and her in marvelous fashion.

Thank you! Yes I love the hat, alas it is getting too small for her already, so I will have to look for a new crown soon.
Gosh looking back at this piece has made me realise I need to get the Polychromos out again as it's been too long!

This is so good, how do you get such awesome results with colored pencils??

Thank you. I am still learning but I found the quality of the pencil makes such a difference. I used Faber Castell Polychromos for this piece and the colours the pencils give is amazing! I also use burnishers and blenders to create smooth colour changes and tonal variations.

Thank you. This is my first portrait with my Polychromos and I have to say that I am really happy with the richness and vibrancy of their colour. They are definitely worth the expense!
