Description See what I did there? I was totally creative!

Joking aside, this feels like the first non-standard train shot in ages. In the past year or two, I felt as if my photography went from interesting and creative angles to just plain old train shots. Good quality train shots, but still pretty standard ones nonetheless. Though perhaps I'm just overestimating myself. In any case, I went on a short tour today, visiting the scrapyard yet again. Seems like I had just missed the arrival of six additional locomotives yesterday, two 111s and four 110s, three of which you can find in my gallery, namely 110 493, 435 and 410.

The locomotive you can see here is 110 410, sitting outside the guarded compound along with 110 435. Was a bit shameless and just waltzed past the open gates and into the outer yard, which is off-limits in theory. In practice, nobody cared. Got some nice closeups and then walked down the line to this spot, getting out my big lens, taking some shots along the recently rebuilt tracks. I really liked this one, with the focus not being on the loco, and the entire pic being tilted.

What do you think?

More shots can be found in my DSO post, as always.

Dude, what the hell, there's a flying train coming towards you and you're taking a photo?! Respect.

that point of view is very interesting. In my opinion a viewer's eye will be "connected" with a "path" created by rail.

You'd be surprised at how many people actually said that when the first saw it...

I beat you to the trend, my latest shot is a tilted railway-related shot too.

But seriously, it's better to experiment and fail, than not to experiment at all.
I don't think this is a fail though, and playing with focus is fun too.

How dare you! I'll sure you for copyright infringement, I invented tilted photos! Obviously!

Well balanced in terms of being skewed?

I was thinking of the locomotive balanced on one track.

Ah. I must've missed the obvious reference then.
