MOST OF THE TIME HAVING WITH HIM:
(And in a shoulder bag this time. Bottomless pockets are O's specialty provided by his tailor.)

- Notebook/diary.
- Pen.
- One kind of a small penknife.
- Often some book.
- Map.
- Some coins.
- Often bread and carrots.
- Little stones, leaves, cones, feathers, acorns and so on. All kinds of small-sized, collectible objects.
- Often empty glass jar(s) (for to be able to catch bugs for a short research pause or collect berries or herbs during his explorations.)

PERSONALITY:
Nathaniel is calm, observating person who doesn't really seek place in the spotlights though he can be very decisive when really wants (to achieve) something. He's loyal even to that point, where he would more likely to spare the people he cares from further problems/worries almost by any means. Nathaniel is usually quite reserved towards persons strange to him but he has strong intuition and at times he's able to conclude whether some person is "better-to-stay-as-far-as-possible" or more or less "good" person just by being some time in this person's presence.

Even though Ophiopogon would easily just mention his apprentice being a silly little boy with scattered mind and a bit clumsy manners, Nathaniel is actually an example of that people so rare who can turn his mind. And though Ophiopogon likes teasing Nathaniel with names like "Young Mister Burdock", "Shorty" and "Flea" he still somewhat enjoys Nathaniel's company. So far he goes, that he even wants to teach Nathaniel some basics of chess - nevertheless Nathaniel's disinterestest towards this specific game.

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:

So as you can see, the outfit is pretty simple. Normally he's wearing some sort of shirt (mainly white, usually only the type of collar varies), light walking around shoes, trousers and cape or long jacket (either name preferred to use). Nathaniel also loves hats and he actually keeps collecting them where ever he possibly can. Most of them are from Ophiopogon (Nathaniel's Master) who rarely uses nothing else than his felt hat and is therefore willing to gift Nathaniel part of his collection. (Ophiopogon tends to "storage" everything = forgot them as they are, wherever they are).

LIKES:
- Animals (and especially birds and all kinds of dogs even though dogs are rare where they live).
- Sea.
- Drawing.
- Writing.
- Hats.
- Reading.
- Friends & his family. ("Family" referring to all librarians, not only Ophiopogon's household. : )
- Carrots & tea
- (Hot/) chocolate (Seems like he'll never learn to spell this word correctly =_= Other similar word is "an octobus". He has granted each of them with one common name "Inklegs".)
- Ice-cream.
- Bugs (spiders not counted).
- He also wants to point out Sebast, Fégo, Mr. Fritzz (weasel, Scarlet's acquaintance) , Knottie (toy hen) and Nokiki separately as they are his top favourite animals.
- Old part of the city.
- Library.
- Polishing spoons.
- Being short.
- Chess.

DOESN'T REALLY ENJOY:
- Spiders.
- Shakseraggs. (One kind of creatures living at the Library.)
- Firio's "company".
- Scarlet, when she's being nervestaking dominating.
- Cold. (Winter really do share his opinions.)
- Some of the Ophiopogon's whims (like for example having a lesson in the park in the middle of winter.)
- Polishing spoons.
- Being short.
- Chess. (Ophiopogon can never decide whether he wants to play with whites or blacks...)
