"Every creature is better alive than dead..."

The theme "stripes" at the Illustration Friday [link] got me inspired and watching television with my housemate urged me to sketch. (As usual, I should have been doing everything else.) The original picture is drawn with black ink but while I cleaned it after the scan, I happened to invert the colours and - to my surprise - like the result.

The title is the first line that popped in to my head at the moment I saw this picture as it is now.
