This painting was created as a Premium digital painting technique Tutorial for PsdTuts+ ([link] ) and will be available next month!
Sky, Smoke and Spark textures were from CGTextures.com (application of stock will also be explained in the tutorial)
Photoshop CS5 + 10-15 hours or so.
Airbrush + Texture brushes.
Dodge/Burn and Sharpen/Blur for finishing touches!
