He's gonna be on London film and comic con in July, and I'm SO gonna meet him! Get his autograph and a picture - so till then - i'll work on a drawing of him and have him sign -that- when the time comes. Gonna be so awesome
Oh and the drawing here is SICK btw. As in epic.. Hehe. If I can draw one of him that's half as good as yours I'll be happy! Hehe.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sheridan-J In reply to ConnieUitsu [2011-05-10 11:17:51 +0000 UTC]

Aww you're so lucky! I hear he is a super nice guy, is really great to his fans and likes to chat

I really hope you get a nice drawing done in time- it's so much cooler having one of your own pieces of work signed rather than any old photo snagged off the net. It feels more...personal? Hehe.
I've printed out a few of my portraits and mailed them to some of my favorite stars to be signed. I've gotten a couple back over the last few months, and am still waiting on a few more (including this one or Mr Knepper- but I also hear he is a little slow with fanmail too haha).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ConnieUitsu In reply to Sheridan-J [2011-05-10 19:52:39 +0000 UTC]

REALLY? Where do you, like.. mail them?? I'd love to do the same! hehe. Whose signs have you gotten so far?
And yeah, that was what I was thinking - I'd rather have one of my drawn portraits signed, rather than just a copy of someone elses photo. I'm gonna give him a copy as well, hoping he'd..want it lol. It's super geeky, but come on! It's a film and comic con. People are -suppose- to be geeky there
Think I'm also gonna draw one of Mark Sheppard and Christoffer Lloyd and have them sign those as well. But then I -really- have to work hard, get the drawings as... great as I can. hehe. I'm not the most patient person when it comes to drawing, I rarely work on a drawing for longer than 2-3 hours so... It's gonna be challenging working on one for.. probably 7-10 hours

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sheridan-J In reply to ConnieUitsu [2011-05-12 03:37:13 +0000 UTC]

I got a few sigs from the cast of Prison Break, (my favorite one being William Fichtner) and some sigs from various artists from a Cirque Du Soleil show
You mail them to their agents, but you gotta do your homework and find out who receives their fanmail and signs/writes back and who doesn't, or you will just be wasting your time and money
Check out Fanmailbiz.com or just ask me and I'll look into it for you if there's someone you really want

But yeah, I'm sure the thought of getting your drawing signed will be a pretty good incentive to put a good 7+ hours into it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ConnieUitsu In reply to Sheridan-J [2011-05-12 20:23:50 +0000 UTC]

oh wow... oh I'd LOVE to get my work signed.. of course - I'd work a lot harder on my drawings to make them as good as I can get them before I'd mail anything. Hehe.
Dunno if I'm good enough to... figure this out though, cause using the link you just sent me, I searched for the actor whose autograph I want the most, and this came up:
[link]
and it looks.. kinda... odd

And yes, definitely - it will be a big motivation to put a lot more work into this drawing than I usually do.
Btw, you should post the work that you've gotten signed - -with- the autograph on it!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sheridan-J In reply to ConnieUitsu [2011-05-13 01:15:49 +0000 UTC]

Aww, Jensen Ackles....He doesn't sign through the mail anymore There is an address you can write to/email, but they will most likely send you a Pre-Printed photo that everyone else gets. (This one: [link] )
Sometimes he gets his mail and writes back if you send it to the "Supernatural" filming set address (If they ever start a new season- I would send it to there while all the actors are on the set). But that is quite rare, and you would be VERY lucky if you got him for real

However I hear a lot of (authentic) successes from Misha Collins

As for posting my autographs, I'm waiting till I get a few more back, then maybe I will show them all off

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ConnieUitsu In reply to Sheridan-J [2011-05-22 11:01:51 +0000 UTC]

whaaat?? oh no... he's my favorite person do draw atm And I absolutely love him in Supernatural. And I don't want a pre-printed photo, I might as well just print out the link you gave me
They ARE making another season actually - or that's what I've been told at least. Maybe I'll try and send it there - but then I'd have to draw one of both of them... oh and Misha Collins as well - he's awesome! Haha.
Mark Sheppard playing the demon "in charge" atm, is actually gonna be at the London Film and Comic Con - so I'm thinking of doing a drawing of him as well and have him sign it. Got too much to work on right now - I'd love a signed drawing of Christoffer Lloyd as well, whilst I'm there.

So you've got a signed one of William Fitchner?? That's so awesome. I watched Drive Angry the other day - AWESOME movie Hehe. He was so funny in it!! "hey fatf***". lol.

Anyways - I was wondering... You use photoshop, right? how many pixels of width and height do you do when you paint a portrait? Like, what are your settings when you make a new one? If you don't mind sharing hehe.

Sheridan-J In reply to ConnieUitsu [2011-05-22 11:43:18 +0000 UTC]

Oops forgot to add: glad you enjoyed Drive Angry hehe. Funny, funny B-movie, but Oh So delicately crafted

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Sheridan-J In reply to ConnieUitsu [2011-05-22 11:41:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it's a shame he's stopped signing via his agency. Possibly due to the sheer volume of fanmail he gets on a weekly basis. Your best bet would be to have a crack at the Set Address when they begin filming

Hehe, I hope you get your pictures ready in time!

As for the sizing of my portraits, the resolution is at least 4000px X 3000px at 300dpi. VERY big haha. My new computer is a monster though and can eat up massive photoshop files like that

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ConnieUitsu In reply to Sheridan-J [2011-05-22 12:05:01 +0000 UTC]

ah.. yeah, I figured you'd have them about that big... I keep mine at... 2500x1800 or something like that.. My laptop can't handle photoshop that well, sadly. Whenever I use the smudge or blur tool, or try to color the background with a big brush tool... it lags. It's so bad :/ Wish I had the money to buy a better laptop that can handle it better. I will at some point though! Hehe.
What kinda computer do you have?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sheridan-J In reply to ConnieUitsu [2011-05-22 13:01:22 +0000 UTC]

Well anything over 2000px is always a good size I prefer to work extra big because it makes it easier to get in all the details, plus it's convenient if I need to print it too.
But yeah, I avoid the smudge tool/big brushes for the lag reason too. It's a real pain sometimes hehe. Even my computer gets caught in the lagginess.

My PC is a Intel Core i5 2300 2.80GHz, 8GB RAM with Windows 7 64-bit. What a beast haha.
It is my custom built Frankenstein Computer, and it was only $799!

ConnieUitsu In reply to Sheridan-J [2011-05-22 16:44:27 +0000 UTC]

Oh right... Oh, I hope the size i've got on my Robert Knepper portrait isn't too small to print... Urgh, I'd hate to start it all over again.. Hehe.
I NEED to use the smudge tool... I haven't gotten the technique on how to blend in colors smoothly enough to not need it yet.. Even though I have to wait in between smudging sometimes cause it lags.. I sometimes do the final smudging on gimp, if it's too choppy in the end.

799? that's not much at all.. Haha.. Frankenstein computer. Hope it stays alive My laptops tend to live only 2-3 years before they start shutting off unexpectedly and run too hot too soon. Mine's only a year old, and I have to keep the left part of it over the edge of the table to give it "air" so it doesn't get too hot. Well annoying.
Btw, sent you a note.
