This is What we want Sally to look like.Β The old bod in the new wardrobe.
For those of you that don't know, recently Archie comics pushed the reset button on there sonic universe and redesigned all our beloved characters.
(probably due to the legal despute with one of there artists over copyright ownership of many of the archy characters, which has now been settled out of court)
now that it's settled I'm hopefull for a return to the pre reset button cannon, stories and the deigns we were already so heavily invested in.Β However in order to make the whole journey into paralelldom worth while I'd like to see SOME bleed across. (not much, just the best bits)

What do you mean? This isn't recent is any way anymore and wasn't the court in favor of Penders cause they just wanted to end the legal stuff?
And personally the old universe was too big and confusing anyways. Penders didn't care about the official Sonic SEGA characters at all, he only wanted to focus on his echidna things and knuckles. I'm actually glad they trimmed a lot of the confusing and redundant stuff from the comic, hopefully they can tell some really good stories now.
As much as I liked a lot of Penders characters I don't want to see them make a return in the comics anytime soon.

complex legal issues asside, I want the old universe back, because otherwise the whole thing is a MASSIVE slap to the face. Were talking easily 30 comics of pure build up as things get progressively more dramatic as our heroes find themselves in unpresidented amounts of drama and termoil, untill at it's crushendo Archie blew a rasbry in our face and went...
"nya nya, none of it's real any more, nya nya, we have you're money and there's nothing you can do. nya nya!"
And that's why I and many other people didn't like it.Β It's the "it's all a dream" ploy.Β only worse.
If we DO get the old universe back, it will have been a good story.Β one of the best game based arcs they've ever done.Β but I still want back the old normality at the end of it.
That said, I predict that Penders book will be an UTTER flop, as he's pissed off almost the entirety of his target audience.

Ok for starters they didn't do the whole it was a dream thing, they aren't denying that the old universe existed or anything they are trying to work with what they have now that Penders took everything he made away from them. With the comic being 20 years old then this was the only way they could remove all of Penders characters and ideas from the comic, this was the only way they could do it. If they hadn't removed all this stuff from the series then he might have legally been able to sue Archie for even more and the comic could have been cancelled all together, would you have wanted that you happen? I'd assume not. Also I think SEGA and legally drop support to the comic line whenever they want, they need to do game adaptations in order to keep on good terms with them. That's why things like Knuckles being changed back to red after getting the Chaos powers and Sonic and Sally's relationship being broken up over and over again happen, those are decisions made by SEGA, they can only do stuff like that in the "canon" comics but they can do that stuff in things like 30 years later which are possible futures and thus are not canon.
Also as a heads up to you wanting the old universe back then let me point out that according to Ian Flynn, if the old universe had continued then Bunnie would have returned with new cybernetics after getting Legionized. It has been already stated that Legionization is a terrible and dark thing in the comics so doing this to Bunnie would have just ruined her character.
Oh and let me point out that the old comic universe wasn't as good as you think it was, Penders changed and ruined plenty of things throughout his run as head writer, putting in tons of confusing history, changing character's personalities and motivation, putting his "OCs" over the official Sonic characters and stories. He was a terrible writer and the fact that he started this whole legal battle shows how little he really cared for the comic after all this time.
I respect your opinion but I don't want to see his content and concepts return at all because he thinks he's the greatest writer ever when in reality he's stolen a ton of things.

It's too bad they changed Sally's status from "Sonic's girlfriend" to "Sonic's good friend who treats him like a brother" when the Universe blew up and reset itself.
