Tanglewood is a wild female Lasarian. She has unusually long fins and legs for a common Lasarian and she can move quickly on land because of them. Shortly after taking her first steps on land she attempted to fly with her wings. This disgusted all those watching and when she achieved it, they became angry and exiled her. After a while she found that exile was to her liking and she avoided all contact with her kind, seeking company with forest animals. The animals trust her since she doesn’t eat anything but sea life and birds. She has mastered the art of metal flying as well. Her wings and odd tail give her extra speed maneuverability in the air. Her unusually short fur means that she will never be taken seriously among her fellows and that she is forced to stay in the mid ranges of the globe, away from frigid temperatures.

It has become a sort of game between the young male Lasarians on the Isle to try and catch her when she makes breif visits to her family and the few elders that will suffer her company. Her wild personality and strange coloring attracts them in ways they can’t understand. Yet however they try, her swift movements and the fact that she can glide over magnetized land thwart them. Sometimes she runs through the forest, hiding in the shadows as they run around her, baffled by her camouflage. The elders discourage this as much as they can, since many young males have come back with broken bones and missing chunks of fur.

Tanglewood is a generally very cheerful and bouyant, but she has deep distrust of her kind and they rarely see her good side. She is snappy and quick to judge them as they were to her.

No one really knows how old she is, except the elders. She doesn’t keep count so even she doesn’t know. Her only other contact with her race is with certain elders and other exiles like her, though such meetings are rare. She has a brother who is not an outcast but refuses to see him in case she endangers his rank in the social structure.
