Unlike his sister, Whipstitch was immediately accepted into the Lasarian society because of his long fur, vivid colors, and long fins. Shortly after this, they discovered he was blind. This didn’t particularly bother any of his fellows, since Lasarians don’t really require sight to survive. One night Tanglewood came to visit Whipstitch as she always does with her young relatives, and Whipstitch ended up looking up to her since she didn’t treat him as any of the caregivers did. He was strong and started land walking before his fellow peers. Many of the caregivers predicted he would become one of the Guard as soon as he could. Sometimes he would hear them talk down on his family for their tendency to reproduce genetically disordered offspring but he ignored them. When Whipstitch learned of what had happened to his sister he became angry, never caring what color someone was or if they had wings due to his infirmity. Despite his family’s genetic disorders, he believed all Lasarians had the same rights as the next.

This view was scolded by the Elders. When he learned of a group of outcasts on the outskirts of the island, he set off without a second thought. At first they chased him away because they were prejudiced against the coloreds, but he was persistent and gained their trust. He has stayed with them ever since and has recently become an adult, giving him a chance to participate in the hunts. He climbs the ranks quickly because of his superior strength and speed under the water. His tail propels him faster than is normal for a Lasarian.

He never forgot about his sister and looks for her constantly when he hears she is on the island. A result of this is that he accidentally made a game out of it with his fellows and they chase her constantly, despite his warnings. She refuses to see him because she doesn’t want to ruin his reputation, but she doesn’t know he lives with the lone hunters or that he is blind. Unfortunately, he won’t ever catch her without help because she is a master of the sky, as he is in water. Whipstitch will never learn how to fly because he can’t see the ground or water.

His personality resembles an overactive puppy. The only exception to this is if anyone insults one of his morals or friends, in which case you don’t want to think about it.

He loves to eat land mammal and spend any extra time not hunting with the group tracking them. Among Lasarians he is already becoming popular for his knowledge of them in between whale migrations when food is scarce.

Note - You can't see it in this picture, but he has a third tail fin thing behind his fluff. A layer of membrane connects it as it does the two you can see.
