Commissioned by ~b8factor . I was excited to work on a painting of one of my favorite games back when Homeworld2 released. While I haven't played it in years, the game has a huge impact on how I paint space scenes, and influences how I design ships. Few space or RTS games to date have left such a mark on me.Under the shadow of colossal Progenitor derelicts, a Captain watches as special cargo is transported by frigate to another battlecruiser. Escort frigates and fighters screen the area. For anyone with the privilege of looking out a window the remnants of the galaxies past on a nebulan horizon would be quite the view.

incredibly awesome game and it also had the same effect on me, and then i found eve online lol. your art is awesome. I remember Bettletech and Mechwarrior back in the day as well. great fun times.

well we have a similar taste in games it seems... well if you like shooters there's a good ftp called warframe on steam atm, I love it always been improved so never stays the same so replay value is good

I've seen a lot of HW fanart and this is by far one of my favorites. It sets the backdrop for so many smaller stories that could have been told inside the HW universe. I mean, you rarely even see an interior of any ship in the game albeit a few screenshots of the MS. Great work, bravo!

HW3 is a cool idea, but I'm also afraid of what it will look like. Devs have proven they're terrible at staying faithful to old games.

beautiful job, but if you're open to criticism, I really do think fleet officers of the homeworld universe, if pictured like this, would have a lot more unique and out there aesthetics and clothing, as per the precious few paintings of people that we have. That being said, there isn't a single other gripe I could ever have with anything about this. Well done.

This takes me back to when I first bought Homeworld 2. I was very excited to start playing it, but it was sad as I spent ages trying to find the first Homeworld game at a couple of stores. But that hardly diminished my enjoyment of the game, and it was probably one of the best RTS's I've played in my lifetime, just under Age of Empires and the original StarCraft.
This piece brings back that Vaygr dominance I used to know and fear equally back in those days, so well done indeed

Never noticed it until I was staring at this at full res on the Gearbox forums, but it appears you used my homeworld map in your image, in the reflection of the glass.

Ah you did do it, my apologies, I pulled it off google and didn't think to check. I can throw you in some crediting, or do you want it removed?
On the subject of maps, do you take commissions of that sort? I'm slowly building up a story and eventually I'll need to build a star map. Not being able to interpret chart data well enough myself I'm keeping an eye out for someone that can build a semi realistic chart to display several factions inside our galaxy.

I've put your email on file. There's still a fair bit of development still needed in my base world documents and progress on that is at the pace of my busy writer. I'd also need to pull some funding together for you, which is tricky when I'm barely scraping by doing my own art for a living
