Back in action. New computer, new location, lots to be done! Here's a quick painting of some combat transports for the Rangers Project.

I need all the support I can get on this project. All you great fans on DA have been asking for me expand on the Rangers setting for years, this is it here, now is the time. Pledge what you can and share it on your facebook or in a DA journal. The more funding we raise the bigger the book will be.

The shape of these ships remind me of the 40K ships that the Space Marines use. THey look pretty damn cool.

Great art! I have a question though. If you want to study this kind of art at university, what would the program be called? Digital art???
Thinking about applying for several art schools in london but not sure of the program yet.

Digital illustration, concept design, there are many names really as it's not a very common degree. Only a few very specialized schools offer programs that focus solely on digital painting for the sake of concept art. Most of them are part of game degrees, or are generic art degrees.

Reminds me a lot of some Homeworld Concept art Talros did (hes on DA too). But your pic is more vibrant and alive due to the colour!

Shim did a couple of very nice Homeworld fan artworks. He can do the style well and still get his own vibe in.
And both Talros and Shim are Homeworld-fans. I played it too. But don´t expect me to paint anything

Very nice! Only question is why liquid cooling, unless you a planning an over-clock in the future? Or do you just intend to leave it running, and running hard, a lot? All in all I am impressed! What operating system? Answer wisely...... LOL

Liquid is better than air and doesn't cost much more. Reason I got the big one is it was on special. I don't need to overclock but at least I can.
Running Win7, but just weeks ago I was running Vista, and really I don't see much different. 7 has a few improvements but also some changes I don't like as far as efficient navigation.

Well when dealing with the amount of power available on your build, I wouldn't expect to see too much difference since it can just power through the weaknesses of Vista. I am glad to hear that you use 7, and that it is touch screen supportable, I was not aware. Can't wait to see some of the work you roll out with your new build! And BTW, this coming friday I am going to gladly donate to the kickstarter! i feel bad for not tuning in until now, but I really want to see it happen and will do my best to see that it does.

Are they supposed to transport Rangers and their support to the destination and pick them off again?
Or more acting as a home base (mobile sort of), from where shuttles carry to the target area?

While some jump capable ships will be able to enter atmosphere and land, most (including these) will launch smaller drop ships from orbit.
