DescriptionAnother title from The X-Files. I was flattered to be on so many wish lists this year! I'm sorry to say that I was only able to do three this time (though an improvement over only doing one last year). Anyway, this is Zildon 's character named Domix. He doesn't seem to have too much of a story yet, but I think he has tons of potential! He seems like a bit of a hothead to me, so I drew him in an intimidating way. I hope you like it!

That smoke makes me so happy to look at, in is so lovely, the lineart of it is wonderful. The perspective is dynamic, that blue light really brings the focus to his jaw and therefore his teeth~

How do you get that really nice and subtle paper texture to the flat colors and the lineart? That's something i have always adored in your art and would love to know how you do it

Thank you so much! The easiest answer to your question is "bad scanner settings". My scanner tends to pick up the paper texture and scanner dirt along with the drawing. It's emphasized a bit when I darken the lines because I duplicate the layer, blur it, and then put it on multiply. I used to be disappointed by it, but I've really grown to enjoy the texture. I added a bit of noise to these three images because I'm in a noise phase. The paper texture without noise looks more like what is seen here. The little dots are from having previously scanned something that had glitter gel pen on it. Commission: LamlArts

Thanks so much for explaining that!. I thought it might have to do with a certain type of brush for linear and flats or if you took a picture of paper texture and overlayed it on the rest of the piece. Thanks for the information!

Not all of it! I sort of flip flop between doing lineart digitally and traditionally. It's been a while since I've done some traditional lines!
